    Interesting views.

Personally I think he has great potential. I don't buy the suspect chin yet. I believe the punch that dropped him was on the temple anyway (much more dangerous). Great speed, good power, nice attitude.

    Hope he does well

    Okay...

So because there's this big hype machine (yes, they are hyping Khan as hell)... it means that he's a joke?

Every fighter who gets a little bit or a big hype, everyone of those is a joke in a lot of people's eyes. Objective judgment is missing when emotions take over. JCCJr. is hype. Amir Khan is hype. Alexander Povetkin is hype. No matter who they fight, BECAUSE they are hyped, they are always getting the very expert opinions 'over hyped', 'B level fighter', 'protected', 'overrated'.

Just to make things clear: you could say that JCCJr. is protected, just look at his record and compare it to Khan's or Povetkin’s. And he gets all the hype when maybe he's the less talented of that trio. But for JC's sake, if the St. Clair fight means nothing for guys with a bunch of thousands of posts, it's really hard to convince anyone. The word is here: stubborn. Khan has flaws (chin) but St. Clair (the one who fought Vivian Harris at LWW) could've had a 99% KO record and still couldn't have knocked out Khan because he barely landed clean shots and he had a hell of a stamina combined with a very awkward style and good handspeed to do that.

Here's my THE FACTS topic with some interesting comparison between P4P#11-15 Juan Diaz and Amir Khan:

That's right now maybe, but Berto is several fights further on than Khan. If we compare their first 16 fights, how does that look?

I'm not recognising any names on his records, but Berto's 15th fight was against a guy who was 34 - 22 who had lost 13 of his previous 17. How does the oppostition that Berto fought stack up to Earl or St Clair?

Khan is heavily protected IMO, & Frank Warren no's the moment he faces a top lightweight with any power, he gets KO'd early.

To be honest I do think Britain has any more of a problem with hype machines than the good old US and A. Khan will achieve world title statusin the same way Punisher did and he will look a serious threat doing so but his time will come and he will become another world level fighter who lost when it really mattered. True greatness is given out too often nowdays and although Khan has some fine tools and justifiable praise he is no way ever going to be a real top class legend. Fortunetly for him in a time when guys like Ree's and Mundine become world champions the door is always open for someone with a bit of money behind them to become a world champ.

Very fast hands, good size and reach, good power....is there any way we can glaum on to him and call him a Yank?
