He is no doubt a very skilled fighter. His power may be a bit overrated though - judging from his last fight.
I believe his KO of Darchinyan has more to do with his accurate counter-punching than his power. Until I see more of his fight, I'm not sold on his KO power just yet.
yeah but his last outting wasnt that impressive. i also read that nonito is/was in the process of firing his father as trainer & he's mad ***** whipped from his new wife... she apparently wears the pants in the relationship.
Donaire for me is the second best technical Filipino boxer that i had seen. I would always rate Gerry Penalosa as the better technical and skillful fighter. The reason why some pinoys don't idolized Nonito because he don't fight to often, however he is said to be the next great pinoy boxer and roach is willing to train him. I don't know why some people don't like his style.
What the.. How does he lack killer instinct? He has enough instincts to avoid getting hit by the same right hand time after time like packy. If the Pinoys would open their eyes and really support this guy, he'd get big. His style excites me alot more than pac's.
If he fights a skilled fighter with power he's gonna loose... he gets hit a lot coz he puts his hands too damn low specially when he gets cocky. BTW dong hyun kim (korean dude) is fighting in UFC right now... MMA-TV! :good
He's good and I like him a lot. But there's only about 2 or 3 fights of his that have been shown on local Philippine TV, and his fights are few and far between. Kinda hard to build a solid fanbase if they don't see your fights. I myself have only seen 3 of his past fights.
