I think everyone sees Berto as lacking "something". That's been my consensus for his last few fights away.

Personally, I feel as though Berto spends to much time jumping around when he could be applying his speed and his power to massive combination punching which would allow him to get rid of some of these guys very quickly. I feel his speed is comparable to Pac Man's and though the two are very different fighters, speed kills but Berto just seems content to through 1 or 2 punches and then bounce out of danger. Last night was a prime example. He was intentionally holding the entire fight and running circles for the better part of the fight. Had he put together 5 and 6 punch combos he would have eventually landed flush and knocked out Urango. He seems to hit hard but just not often enough.

I say cut back on the dancing and increase the combos.

He gots talent, a better trainer should be able to help him put it all together.

All that holding and running around the ring like a chicken isn't gonna do anything for Berto... much less for us fans. He proved he can hold a lot when he doesn't know what to do, he spent half of each round holding... ****ing referee should have deducted points. I'm not interested in watching that kind of fighters.

throwing off combinations and then holding against a powerful slugger like Urango is the right strategy. If Cintron had done a little more of that his face wouldn't have been so puffed up at the end of the night.

Did you notice how Berto was still going strong in the 12th? Give some credit

Pitches a shutout, and yet he is still "lacking".

The only thing he "lacks" is personality. And being that I'm not trying to make him my wife, that doesn't mean ****. He's a good fighter in the ring, and wins in convincing fashion.

Once Berto gets in there with elite level, suddenly he won't be getting away with holding and jabbing with the back of his hand. Last night was all about Berto. He was the star and that ref gave him every break possible. Last night was packaged to make Berto look good so he can develop as an HBO cash cow.

But despite favorable reffing, a gushing commentary crew and a limited opponent seemingly tailor-made to make Berto look good, Berto did not look good. He didn't impress. Forget Berto. He's another hype job.

Berto is a good fighter, but he really needs to work on his accuracy. He misses an awful lot of punches for a guy as fast-handed as he is.

Geesh I thought he looked great vs Urango.. He did hold alot...more than hatton did, but again, if ya can get away with it, it's part of the game

I disagree, there was clearly excessive holding.

I don't think I'm in a rush to watch the repeat on Sky but maybe we've been spoiled with great WWs of late and when a 'good' fighter comes along we're quick to judge him very early.

He's lacks a great trainer and the ability to keep a clear head at times. He's definitely not ready for the big guns of the division and might not get an opportunity against them in the near future even if he does want those challenges. He should either rematch Collazo or fight Cintron in is next fight and I'm thinking the latter might be his most realistic option since both are promoted by Dibella.

Thats only because he didnt do as much as he could have. He was holding for no reason at times.
