WBC isn't the first belt. The WBA is, as it's the former NBA and changed it's name in 1962 to the WBA (same organization). The WBC was formed in 1963. Just thought you should know that, since you bring it up all the time as an excuse for PBF going after that belt, claiming the WBC was the first belt and therefore more important.

Second, it was a figure of speech. Cotto has said that Mayweather doesn't want to fight him and has made excuses everytime he's mentioned. Basically calling him a coward.

    Nonesense.

Given the huge $$$ this fight can attract, they'd both be foolish to pass up on it.

Oscar is near the end and won't be around much longer. Miguel will be there for some time, will continue to improve, and WILL fight Floyd in the future.

    BOth these fights will happen.

If it were MY choice, I would prefer

    1 Floyd Cotto
    2 Floyd Shane
    3 Oscar Cotto
    4 Floyd Williams
    5 Oscar Williams

Oscar has probably the best or second best chance of anyone current, of beating Floyd.

Holyfield got a recent title shot, despite not being a top 20 contender.

To those who argue that Cotto doesn't deserve a shot at Floyd, Bull****.

He's beaten Shane and I don't think too many would quarrel with a Floyd /Shane matchup.

    He's beaten Zab.

Point is, he will still be there AFTER Oscar, and will generate more $$$ the longer he has to wait.

thats right so floyd should just accept a cotto fight, it will be the easiest money he ever makes while beating a top 10 p4p'er

Because he wants DLH for much more $$$ doesn't mean he is ducking Cotto.
Everybody can say he is ducking Cotto, but even if he wanted Cotto that fight won't be made and signed quickly, all parties have to come to an agreement.
So apparantly the DLH II is way more easy to be made.

BUT, f*&k this fight:-( what a shame.

What is wrong with this fight for Floyd? Why not fight Oscar again? Let Cotto fight Margo or Williams next. Oscar gave Floyd his toughest fight yet. I know some of you are blinded by love, but the fact is Floyd fought cautious in that fight. Oscar, well Oscar didn't do much either. Next time around things may be different. I wouldn't mind seeing it. I think Cotto would be a tougher fight then Oscar just due to styles and Cotto might be able to keep up a higher pace, but Oscar CAN beat him. Let Cotto fight the winner after he takes care of Williams or Margo or Cintron or even Gomez. That fight will be huge then.

and the way i see it is... if mayweather keeps having fights like this... and cotto's opposition only gets better like it's been doing... the roles are gonna reverse and mayweather's gonna wanna shot at cotto, instead of vice versa...
