hmmm, peter had like say............20 amateur fights. remind me again, how many did solis have again??? was it more then 20...........please help me out:rofl. and since when is beating a 20-0 guy impressive.......when you consider the opposition??? ....at you:hi:
He is very talented and has beat some great guys as an amateur, such as Haye, Alexeev etc. However, he was a lean 91kg boxer, who for some reason has put on a massive amount of weight which isn't all muscle. That and his 'gangsta' image and all that bling, may indicate he doesn;t live a very disciplined life. I want him to do well though.
i find the win impressive for two reasons. one for the fact that its only the guys 9th pro fight. two for the fact that he did it with body shots. Body shots have become a lost art in the HW division and its rare to see someone finished almost exclusively off of them anymore
Id rather have him fight a reliable journeyman with a 5-12 record than have him fight a guy with wins over nobodies.
yeah, but your opinion has to be cherished eyh coming from a guy who called a man a "BUM" who won the wbc belt from maskaev, beat james toney, and went 12 rounds with wlad while dropping him 3 times............yeah, that really validates your ability to grasp the sport of boxing:rofl
From what I have seen Solis looks like a very good prospect. He has the abillitys but his size is a concern; he is 6′ 1½″ and at 253 lbs what kind of stanama is he going to have in a 12 round fight? I think if he fights at 220-225 lbs he should be a very good heavyweight. If he contunes to fight at 253 or even at 246¾ his lightest weight as a pro; Solis will be a major dispointment.
Solis is probably the most talented heavyweight out there right now, but it seems that his "team" are made of cheerleaders instead of people who can help him improve his skills. His biggest assets as an amateur was his speed, reflexes and mobilty. But the only thing that his "team" brags about is his power and that makes me think that they doesn't know what kind of fighter they got. /K http://boxning.blogspot.com/2008/01/top-100-heavyweight-prospects.html
