Yes Solis was clearly winning the fight before it ended due to injury and therefore he won the event. I wouldn't be surprised to see Vitali retire rather than take a rematch with Solis.

Vitaliy got saved by accident. Clearly Klitschko was lucky to survive the fight after solis got injured.

 

Solis was landing punch after punch before the tragic injury forced the stoppage, he even tried to get up despite all the hideous damage to his knees, he showed great heart and he's definately no quitter.

The crowd were obviously enjoying the competitive bout and were furious that it was stopped, hence the booing. Clear cut case of the champion losing the event. VITLAY even looked embarrassed to be declared the winner when he knew he was taking a beating until the stoppage due to injury as he knows it's not a real victory.

Will there be a rematch? I doubt it, but I suspect the German boxing fans want to see it.
