I hope they offer him A Dollar Three Eighty and he takes it.
Then Lacyfies Canelo within 3 rounds.

Oscar will go back to wearing nylon stockings, and Canelo will have to dye his hair,
grow a beard and move to Puerto Rico because of his shame.

If he takes on a B+ 160 guy in the spring, as a legit setup for a Fall 2017 clash, I will reserve judgment and find somebody else to ***** about. Or if he said I'm staying at 154 and taking on everybody at the top that would be fine too, we can just move on.

If we get another **** show then at what point does that start to wear thin with all the apologists on here?

Legit question for everyone on both sides of this argument.....how many more Canelo fights will you support not involving A-level 154's or high B level 160's? Anyone? How many?

i would add that offering zurdo 5 million for a catchweight fight on cinco de mayo, would put ggg way above anything canelo could possibly match. mexicans would be sounding them drums for one of their real warriors stepping in to restore the proud tradition, on the anniversary of one of their greatest battles.
man, makes my mouth water just thinking bout the circus it would create.:babeando:

You do understand that when you are pushed as heavily as Canelo was , right from the get go, you can get virtually any fight. He has pretty much given his first title as well (Matthew Hatton fight). It's hard for me to say someone is paying their dues when they have their careers handed to them on a silver platter.

form what I see some saying, Alvarez paid his dues by taking less money against two long time champs (Cotto and Floyd) and accepting two pounds less to face Floyd. That's it. The rest that some say is paying dues, like facing Lara, is just what you are supposed to do as a champ in your division.

To be fair here, Canelo already beat the number 1 guy at 154, who happens to be ErisLandy Lara. I don't really consider him a 154 pounder anymore and he doesn't fight at 160 in his next fight, I'll be heavily disappointed. Especially after the rumors he'll be fighting Saunders next. I'll even accept Lemiuex or Stevens as a tuneup bout.:dancer2:

He was a prospect getting his push, it's no different then Floyd, Cotto or any other fighters that became a superstar. They all take the same road. Chavez Jr was the one getting pushed, and it turned out he wasn't that good, complain about him. Canelo has got the goods.

He offers nothing, but the GGG camp can't help but mention his name in every interview!:risas3:

I have to disagree. It's not the same. Cotto and Floyd had the benefit of top rank matchmaking, which is/was much better then GBP's attempt to replicate their style.

We aren't talking about Chavez, so why even bring him up.

True....yes for a time Canelo was doing what he is supposed to do in taking those kinds of fights, Lara and Trout as divisional threats with a couple of good big money fights in Floyd (old but still superhuman) and Cotto (old and definitely not superhuman).

No complaints there, as I've said that's why I'm frustrated now. That stretch is starting to feel like the exception rather than the rule, especially if you <gasp> go on box rec and look at the entire ledger as a whole.

But it's like with Ward, a couple of big wins YEARS ago and we're supposed to bow down FOREVER. Nah....that ain't how it works.....free market will speak loud and clear. I'm not Mexican but I think there is a lot of truth in the fact that the fans aren't going to blindly support rip offs like the Floyd Supremacists did.

To your point, if he takes on a legit 160 next with an eye towards the fall then I will happily admit I was wrong about it all

Well when you get asked a question what you gonna do? The questions are coming because of Canelo's actions. This is not rocket science

Cool. I just think all the GGG FANS need to relax a bit, all of his extremists are angry at this flat fee offer quote from Oscar without even knowing what the terms would be. Still, it's going to be GGG that makes the decision on whether it's fair or not, and his fans are just going to have to accept it, though I doubt most will.

Not to mention, Goldy and Red do the same with his name.
