They won´t be pros though, apparently.....The boxing confederation from Brazil want them for 2016 (in Rio), I heard....

That seems like it could be a waste of their time. :-( They'll be 28 and 26 after Rio, a bit late for a pro turn.

Then again, bringing the gold home - at home - would be huge for Brazil and might spark new interest in boxing there. (as there's been a bad drought since Popo's era...recent comeback notwithstanding :yep)

The pro scene there is barren enough that it might actually be their best option to simply wait around and refine their skills for the next Olympics, and hope it's a weaker field in each division than in 2012. :think

I have no doubt that a guy like Esquiva as a pro would be great for Boxing in Brazil, would be a bit popular again, IB.....and I think he would make much more money in the pro boxing. So I´m hoping to see him as a pro soon, both actually, Everton too....would be great for them and great for boxing....everyone would be happy.

Can someone explain a tied final score? China's Zou Shiming won his semifinal match 15-15.

That confused me at first, yeah. :yep

My guess is that they never reached a consensus between those inputting data (probably multiple people, not just one webmaster considering the sheer amount of copy) as far as a format for displaying names.

So one person would put in "Andrey Zamkovoy" and another would put in "BERINCHYK, Denis" and that's how they'd carry over when copied and pasted into subsequent fields.

    Round 1

Nyambayar attacks with the 1-2 but finds himself blocked. Carrazana gets cuffed with a left hook to the side of the head but keeps patiently skipping back and covering up looking for spots to counter. Finally he lets a left hand go and chisels through Nyambayar's guard with it. Another nice left hand counter by Carrazana as Nyambayar comes axing in. 1-2 to the guard and an uppercut to the elbow by Nyambayar. Right hand between the arms by Nyambayar. Carrazana hits the body but gets his head snapped back by a left jab coming forward.

    IB's score: 5-4 Nyambayar
