That's the difference though, in their era they played other white Aussies and Aboriginals. Generally the same size. Now there is 70kg 10 year old Islanders... Weight divisions are a great idea as long as it is supported. Weight divisions until 13, then age groups.
weight divisions to start at 10yo. atm my (under 8 ) boy can play a year up and still stand out. he scored over 50 tries in 15 games, tops the tackle count in every game, and does the same when he plays a year above himself at home games when our 9s are short. weve only met one PI kid that he couldnt tackle effectively. he tried him high and got sent flying. i advised he hit him from theside...he went down like he hit a tree. the next time he played him he knew what to expect....and he nailed him, high, defending his line at full speed, ball and all. the ultimate test. dropped him on the spot. they both got up together. two hard boys... however, that other kid will have a supersonic growth spurt at 12yo...google it. my boy probably wont. they will end up 30 kg different in size. my boy will be faster, more agile and playing AFL.
Agreed. It can work against the bigger kids too if you think about it. They're stronger and faster than everyone for a while so their skills don't develop as much and then all of a sudden everyone catches up with them.
:think I cant think of any. Bomber McRea won a Charity Shield, which is probably only a **** hair away from a premiership.
There's a good few to thrive in the UK who have found an NRL premiership pretty elusive - Smith, D. Anderson, Mcrae, Elliot.....more
I had a dream the other day Oz. Well not really a dream, just a thought, but it goes like this... While thinking about the NZ olympian who was awarded gold after the olympics finished due to the original winner being caught drugged up, I was picturing the NRL chairman going to Hindy's last game, and after seeing Parra get beat 30-0 by the Dragons, he would then award the NRL trophy "engraved 2009 premiers" to Hindmarsh on his farewell. :hey
No I disagree with it entirely. Storm won that, though I would have loved for Billy Slater to have had his testacles removed with a spork for taking a dive and getting a penalty... But man I highly disagree with stripping the ****s of their Premierships. They still did it. I just wish they didn't have to hand him the wooden spoon... Hindy deserved much better than this ****ing dog **** sucking season put on primarily from shitty coaching and terrible recruitment.
Generally I agree but something was very satisfying in seeing Folau balling like an absolute biggoty ***** when they last 40-0 or something...
It's already in my Memory bank as our Premiership. Manly went back to back in 2008 and would have done it again this year if it wasnt for ****ing Inglis :-(
