Most are going to rank on both, I can virtually guarantee that.

You cannot show how great your ability is against bad competition, and thats where resume comes in. But that is another discussion for another place.

I feel bad that I have to narrow it down to 2 because there are so many great posters on ESB who are worthy and eligible...acb, sues2nd, Sweet Pea, etc.

What we need to keep in mind though guys, is getting some diversity in the board. We should ideally be trying to get people from around the globe, as most times they can provide perhaps some international perspective, and help eliminate the bias that can appear when judging fighters from a particular nationality. Having some top Euro posters, US posters, and then maybe making sure we have someone representing their particular region would be a terrific way to do it IMO. Obviously the US is the mecca of boxing, and where most of the posters from this site come from, so I imagine we will end up having more guys from the US on the comittee. Still, naturally guys who live in Euorpe will more likely then not have seen much more footage of euorpean fighters and prospects then others. Same goes for other continents/regions.

I agree MSTR, but KG and Brooklyn are obvious front runners because they don't judge in a biased way.

To me, ranking Hopkins as a top P4P fighter at this point is absurd, so international influence will at least help even it out. KG often points out that the Euro and International circuit has many underrated fighters that can give big names hell and he is correct, however, he hasn't seen as many as someone who follows international boxing to the core.

The P4P list should take resume and ability as 60% resume and 40% ability in my opinion. And resume should not just take the 'name' into account, but 'how' the fight was won and the perspective of the bout. This will give us the best list in my opinion.

Good post and another issue that MUST be taken into account. What criteria we judge these rankings on? I think as you have done here, we should be able to think OUTSIDE the square and take ability into account, which is what will make our ranking different to the other ranking systems around.
