The one thing that no Martinez supporter has done is lay out a meaningful analysis of how and/or why Martinez should win.

I've layed out my analysis in numerous posts. Here are a few examples.

Please do so. Boo has asked several times for the people backing Martinez to do this. Always the same answer:

    Speed
    Angles
    Bhop

Very little other than that. So please, elaborate.

Martinez was hurt against Williams. More than once he had to reach out and hug him to stay on his feet.

Still, Martinez wins this fight in embarrassing fashion.

One big difference, kelly wont gas the way Williams did, kelly will finish off his opponent, thats what he does.

I'll do a quick summary for you.

Pavliks defence - He was hit 39% or more of total punches by Taylor both times, Hopkins and Espino. Martienz will capitalise on his lack of headmovement.

Southpaw stance - Martinez southpaw style will neutralise Pavliks jab which must be effective for him to build his offence.

Lateral movement - Pavlik is deadly against fighters with no lateral movement. Taylor in the first fight and Hopkins showed side to side movement before using their speed advantage to fire first and score. What Hopkins achieved with in and out movement then clinching Martinez will achieve with in and out movement followed by a step to the right (away from the right hand)

Ring rust - Pavlik has fought 5 rounds in the last 12 months against the limited Espino. Martinez has stayed active against world class opposition and this could come into play on fight night; the staph infection could still be on his mind as well.

Pavliks 'power' - Overrated. if you want more compubox stats it took him 242 punches to dispose of Miranda, 250 for Espino and 180 to get rid of the slightly chinny Taylor. He is a puncher who wears you down, not knock you out with one punch.

The final point is that Pavlik has to set himself to punch, if the opponent is moving his punch output drops. He is much like Margarito in this respect and I believe that Martinez will use side to side movement, keep the fight centre ring and win a widish decision. Does that constitute an analysis?

    In order..

A deciding factor in this fight.

Martinez' use of angles will also be important

Bhop laid a blueprint for slowing Pavliks output, it's a loss that seems to have stunted Pavliks career why shouldn't it be taken into account?

Pavlik's defense, with the exception of the Hopkins fight, has always been as good as it needed to be to accomplish the task at hand. Sergio Martinez is NOT Jermain Taylor. His jab does not even live in the same universe as JT's did, and that makes comparisons pretty far fetched. Don't bank on anything we saw in the Espino fight. Pavlik stood belly to belly with Espino and beat the **** out of him because he did not need to do anything else.

The southaw stance is a disadvantage for Martinez. He has vitually no defense against a good right hand.

Pavlik's power got him an 86.5% KO ratio including at least 7 opponents who had never been stopped before. He does wear guys down over the course of a few rounds before he stops them, but do ya think there might be at least an outside chance that BOXING SKILL had something to do with that?

This whole "Pavlik has to set his feet" theory is an internet myth. I watched him knock a guy out with a right hand he threw off the back foot. Against Zuniga, who is bigger, stronger, has better fundamemtals, and hits harder than Martinez, Pavlik threw combinations off the back foot over and over. Rubio showed WAY better defense than I've ever seen from Martinez, and he never stopped moving. Pavlik still threw an average of 71 punches per round.

At 160 Kelly Pavlik has not lost more than a handful of rounds over the course of his entire career. No fighter has ever gone more than 9 rounds with Pavlik at 160, and his KO ratio in fights scheduled for 10 or more rounds at 160 is 100%. And yet, the internet myth says just show some angles and lateral movemtent, and ya got him beat.

Martinez not only cannot go 12 rounds with Pavlik, he can't outbox him either. Sergio has the wrong kind of flaws, and he is going to get out boxed, outfought, and knocked out.

you are such a delusional ******.

Paul has never gassed in a fight. And Martinez was no exception. Paul's stamina was one of the main things that actually kept him at an advantage in this fight.

You spout the same crap every time. How can you compare Martinez to ANYBODY other than Hopkins and Taylor? Taylor has been KO'd twice since Pavlik. Miranda has too, Zuniga was also KO'd by Bute.

Quick points.. Martinez has no defence but he was almost never hit with the right by right hand bomber Kermit Cintron. Pavlik DOES need to set his feet, it's absolutely clear in every fight you watch him in. Are you going to argue that he has comparable handspeed to Martinez as well?

I really don't understand how anyone could watch Williams/Martinez and come away with the idea that either guy is exceptionally fast. Both have good hand speed, but it is no better than good. Both have the defensive prowess of Carl Froch.
