Lederman scoring this for Hopkins is almost as bad as Doug Tucker scoring Munoz 120-108 over Mijares. :-(
You're mixing up your fights. Tucker gave the 120-108 to Jose Navarro over Mijares on the Pavlik-Taylor II undercard.
Kinda boring main event. Vagueries of the 10 point must system made the fight alot closer than it really was. Hopkins managed to squeek out alot of the closer rounds with his jabs. I had it for Holt though 116-113 1 Holt 2 Holt 3 Holt 4 Hopkins 5 Hopkins 6 Even 7 Holt 8 Holt 9 Holt 10 Holt 11 Hopkins 12 Hopkins Hopkins needs to use that 100k on some dental work
Dude, Hopkins literally ran backwards for several rounds. He looked like DLH from the end of the Trinidad fight...for most of this fight, including early on. Holt was pressing forward and tagging him, eating the occasional shot. He probably gave Hopkins a little more respect than he needed to, but my feeling is he was frustrated with the constant clinches that inevitably came out of him falling in to exchange. It became more comfortable for him to potshot and capitalize when he outmaneuvered Demetrius and got him backed against the ropes, and choosing those moments to unload. I'd hardly say he was afraid to pull the trigger, this was a very aggressive Kendall Holt. It was a tactical fight, but come on..
Did you see any of the other nationally televised fights today????????? This was head and shoulders above ALL of them in terms of excitement.
