Ohara is going to stop him and do it quickly. Good matchmaking by Hearn, Limond is a decent name but one that has been inactive for the last two years and is coming off a beatdown.
Agree, and after Limond's post fight interview I thought it was a foregone conclusion. Don't rate O'Hara, but think he will make light work of Willie unfortunately.
willie has been a great servant to scottish boxing but at the minute he looks to be past his sell by date. he looked so slow and sluggish against nurse and i can't see him getting any better against ohara. willie will give his all but i think he might get stopped mid to late rounds
This fight is not happening. Willie limond has had zero notice. Spoke to willie over the weekend hadn't heard of Davies or possibility of a fight on October 7th.
at his age he really should be keeping himself in the best shape possible so that if a chance for a title fight comes along he can be ready on shortish notice. i mean he was given 5 weeks notice for ohara davies and you would think if he was in the gym already that 5 weeks would be enough notice? its not like ohara is a top drawer fighter yet.
Willie limond has always been a part time boxer as well as a joiner mate. What I meant by zero notice was finding out he had a fight off third parties/internet etc. Ohara Davies has stated he was told about this fight 2 weeks ago. Where's the level playing field? Willie does keep himself in shape although does have other commitments other than boxing.
ok mate i understand what you mean now but tbh the 'name' fighter knowing first is pretty common and although i totally agree that it is wrong it is the way things are and fighters just have to accept this is how it is. if you are with a big promoter you get the breaks if not you have to be ready for your chance. although willie has this opportunity it isn't a massive problem that he has decided not to fight but he must keep himself in the gym and make sure that he keeps fighting at his own promotions to stop the ring rust setting in and hopefully against better class opposition than he has been fighting on his own promotions.
