I beg to differ on that. Byrd is tailor made for WALD....this is a guy that Lewis didn't even deem a challenge remember.

 

Only Ike & Wlad have dropped Byrd that violently. Did you hear the smacking sound when Wlad cracked that right hand into Byrd's face and Chris hit the canvas? That was a brutal hit and kudos to Chris for even getting up at all after that one!

 

I disagree. Stylisticly, Byrd is perfectly suited for Wlad. Byrd started out as a MW. He has very little power at HW, and had no chance of outboxing Wlad given his huge disavantage in the height and reach department. In the second fight, Byrd was past it and just stood in front of Wlad and hoped that Wlad would get tired. Wlad is susceptable to relentless guys with power. Peter fits that bill and Wlad still won. Peter was young and undefeated at the time, and he is the second highest rated HW right now. The fact that Wlad beat a guy who had all the tools to beat him, and did so despite being knocked down 3 times, makes that his best win. Beating a past prime fighter who does not posses the skill set to give Wlad much problems is nowhere near as impressive.

The Peter win is a good one because of the reasons both you & Fightingweight stated but few would rate Peter as highly on an all time as they would Byrd. Byrd was only stopped twice, once by Wlad.

 

Let me let you in on a little secret. None of us are completely gay or completely straight. We are all bi. It's just a matter of degree regarding how far towards men or women we lean. It's simple biology.

Are you really going to tell me the Byrd win was better because he knocked him out? Byrd was past it in that second fight and employed an awful strategy. He just sat in front of Wlad hoped that he would get tired. What kind of strategy is that? I don't see what's so impressive about beating up a much smaller guy with no power, who's past his prime and decides that he's going to win by eating leather until his opponent gets tired. Face it, Peter is his best win. There's no shame in that

 

No it isn't. If it were true, it would be psychology, not biology anyway.

 

It remains to be seen how great of a win that was for Wlad since Peter has yet to really accomplish much. He's young and may go on to rule, after Wlad's reign anyway :yep

Or he may be beaten tonight by the WBC's 40th ranked fighter.
