I don’t know what people expect. A decent opponent for a world title fight pulls out late so they get someone else in for a tick over. It’s not a world title fight. Fighters need to stay active.
In fariness to Okolie, what can he do? He's paid for and trained all camp for a title fight with Glowacki who unfortunately had to pull out and they've had to scurry around looking for a replacement on late notice. He's not going to throw the opportunity to win a world title away is he. As mentioned, hopefully he defends against Glowacki.
If it is a tick over then it is fair, if they somehow manage to make this for a world title then it's a joke.
Tyson Fury beat a 10 year reigning champion in the 10 year reigning champion's venue of choice. He did the same to a 5 year reigning champion. Tony Bellew beat a midget with an incredibly padded record, who had never been a world champion, in his own back garden, with the comfort of the Matchroom brown envelopes on standby.
Well, I will not judge Bellew's opponents or Bellew but defend tittle he should had by idea vs this guy. It didn't happened. https://www.skysports.com/boxing/ne...-mairis-briedis-if-he-beats-bj-flores-say-wbc
Okey. Guy had camp and it will be nice if he will have fight too after serious pre fight camp. Only one thing: please not be Octopus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was reffering to Furys opponent's of late in Schwarz and Wallin (thats Fury turned down an offer to fight AJ for) fits the bill of Okolies opponent . Makabu has been on unbeaten runs since losing to Bellew and became WC again. Not Usyk or Briedis level granted but certainly a solid respectable fighter. Also beat a decent opponent in Masternak to earn thebtitle shot.
