Where there is vision available, for the fights he was listed around the 212 lb mark, Liston looked and performed very well. He certainly didn’t need the extra 6 lbs odd when facing and trying to hunt down Ali in Miami.

For the orig. scheduled rematch with Ali in Boston Sonny was aiming and looking on target for 212 lb at most if not a bit lighter.

Is there any hard and fast answers as to WHY there is no available vision for Liston v Folley and Liston DeJohn? Can it at least be confirmed if they were filmed or not? We have other fights of Liston’s in and around the same time.

Here’s an excellent older thread that dealt with Liston v Folley. Interesting to read that Folley came back at Sonny hard after arising from a KD.
