Timing is intrinsic to correct delivery on a moving target/trained boxer.

However, Correct technique and leverage can be used on a bag or a ball or a punch machine without the same timing. So long as the weight is following through there will still be satisfactory results recorded.

Impact is the same and these machines only measure impact. An old fighter, even retired one's could produce a Sunday punch on a machine for the one second or so it takes him. It won't look as pretty, but providing he has not lost a lot of weight in theory he could hit the machine as hard as in his glory years.

You dont have to time anyone to hit a punch machine.

Old fighters hit the bags hard. They lose a bit of snap but the bag won't know the difference. Impact stays the same.

George Foreman hit Gerry Cooney as hard as he hit anyone. George did not catch Shannon Briggs with the same timing but in the gym I bet Foremans trusty heavy bag was hit just as hard for both fights.

If you boxed, you don't impress anyone with technical acumen. Nothing that you wrote debunks what I said. What I said about the X factor of wraps or no wraps and glove weight is correct. Those who have been in the ring know...bottom shelf tomato can wannabes do not.

For the record I think Fitz was a better KO artists than Jeffries thanks to
    technique.

Pretty much correct. Everyone knows power is the last thing to go.

After 1900 Fitz's power waned, he said himself he no longer had his full power. It isn't a question of power being the last thing to go, it still goes, its a question of a 40 years old past prime ex champion being compared to a 27 years old reigning champion bang in the middle of his prime. Surely that isnt so difficult to grasp?
Prime for prime Fitz is undoubtedly the better ko artist.

Do you think Joe Louis still had his full power when he fought his last opponents? After 1948 he had 10 fights and scored just 3 stoppages ,2 of which were tkos, 1 on cuts.
