I thought Fury was going to win the first fight and was wrong (wanted Usyk to win) haven't seen many Fury fans not give Usyk full credit tbh.

If anything it's the Fury haters hell bent on discrediting Usyks win.

I'm on about lineal, that's a big thing for Fury fans.

But right now there's no debate. Usyk is the champion and everyone knows it.

Before the fight there was a debate so Fury's fans were very vocal about who the lineal champ was.

And I agree, but you can't have it both ways

    Well it isn't.

Pre fight they were very vocal because although Usyk had ,3 belts, Fury fans said he was lineal

Then since Usyk won the fight Fury fans haven't been too interested in this lineal or not.

Lineal lately has only ever been a tool to diminish Usyk.

Feels like a bit of a stretch tbh. Name one Fury fan who's claimed lineal isn't important since Usyk earned that distinction.

Sure, I understood what you were trying to say.

However, the most recent post on the subject prior to your own post highlighted the absolute deference that Fury fans had for the Lineal Title when Tyson held it.

Usyk not holding the Lineal Title was used as a point of argument against Usyk being the true # 1 - despite Olek holding 4 belts to 1.

Of Usyk course has since won the final belt AND the Lineal Championship.

Therefore, per the standards of certain Fury fans, belts held otherwise notwithstanding, their recognition of Usyk should be solely based on Olek’s holding of the Lineal Title as per their own applied standard when Fury held the Lineal Title.

Precisely. Usyk has proven he's the best in the division.

No one is talking about lineal anymore because no one needs to.

There's only one recognised champion in the whole of the division.

Fury fans talked about lineal to try to make Fury's championship claim better than Usyks. The two have fought now and we have a clear winner.

And Usyk is only recognised as said champion because he beat Fury, the former lineal champion. If someone beats Usyk, they become champion. That's how the lineal championship works.

What I don't understand is where has this narrative that Fury fans no longer recognise the lineal championship just because Usyk has it comes from? The fact Usyk unified all the belts is just icing on the cake.

I'm pretty sure the vast majority of boxing fans recognise Usyk as both unified and lineal champion. They're not mutually exclusive.

    No, not quite.

Some said Fury was lineal back from beating Wlad.

Some said Fury was lineal back from beating Wilder.

Some said Usyk was lineal back from beating AJ.

So it was contentious who the real champion was. And in those times lineage gets mentioned a lot.

Right now Usyk is the only champion at HW and everyone knows it. And in those times people don't mention lineage as much because there's no debate as to who it is.

I’d say it’s arisen from any Fury fans who were previously fixated ONLY on the Lineal Title and nothing else, NOW bemoaning Olek’s relinquishing of the IBF belt.

Basically, the response to that is that said Fury fans should be okay with the relinquishing of the IBF belt because they ONLY deferred to the Lineal Title in the first place anyway.
