Chris Byrd is not as good as Fury and nowhere near as big. Fury would jab his face off. Ike isn't that good of a pressure fighter, Chris Byrd just decided to stay in range for long periods of time and paid for it
He did not quit he put Byrd’s lights out. End of story. Even Wilder got to Fury in the first Ike who is 100% better will get to Fury and Usyk no doubt about it. As for Lennox Lewis I know it would be a great fight. Also Lennox Lewis manager admitted to me that was the one fight he really was not keen on for Lewis. Make of that what you will.
I have tapes of everyone on his pro fights Saw every amateur fight he had in the US too. Knew him from the day he walked in too Curtis Cokes gym fresh from Nigeria. A 100% Lennox maybe would but it would be hell of a fight
Sell me ike ibeabuchi v Anthony wade ??? If u have it on tape — u claim to have I want it but now u gonna say u can’t give it so it means u don’t have them !!!
Sorry not selling any Theyre too precious memories. I believe that fight was Ike's only fight in Vegas
That's great never saw him spar with Kirk They seemed to keep them apart . Most of his early pro fights weren't televised theyre ones the guys made themslves
Did you ever actually watch the fight? Byrd had the wrong game plan, rather than being "tricky elusive" he tried to slug it out with Ibeabuchi. He foolishly fought Ike's fight. However, he learned of his own power limitations in that fight, and in future fights, fought "tricky elusive". By the way, did you know Sven Ottke had a win over Chris Byrd in the amateurs? Ibeabuchi is similar to Sam Peter and to someone fighting tomorrow, Efe Ajabwa. He was a strong slugger, with not so good technique.
I wish I could rep this a couple of times. It took the thread from mostly generalities into some good analysis. That being said, I am going to throw in some generalities. I favor Usyk pretty heavily, and see it as very similar to the Gassiev fight, as Murat is also a hard-hitting guy who throws nice combinations that Usyk made a fool of, but Ike had two others big things going for him: a legendary motor, and the proven ability to get to a southpaw. I'll even throw in another thing: with Ike's legendary chin, no way is Usyk going to have him wobbling like he did AJ. The entire fight is bull and matador. I would expect Usyk to win but bite my nails the entire fight.
If depends, Ike was still developing at the time but he had already shown a good chin and good power. Who else could track down the tricky Byrd and beat a best version of Tua at his own game? Must see fights. Usyk to me would need a 25 x 25 monster ring ( most are 20 x 20 ) to keep away and a rule set of 15 rounds. Ike was a beast of a man taken form boxing too soon and he should have been taken for what he did.
