Similar to Peter and Ajagba? That doesn't even make sense. Ile would have beaten both in the same night.
Usyk is very impressive & is an ATG,maybe the best ever, at CW. But we certainly do not have enough evidence that he is an ATG at HW.
Yes Ike was easily bigger & more muscular than even the bulked up Usyk. Ike did enough to be a real threat to most everyone-his head to head anking should be significantly higher than his historical rating. He set the record for punches landed by a HW-& most were power punches against Tua. But that fight & the damage incurred ruined his already tenuous mental equilibrium. Usyk vs. Ike could go either way.
He's an ATG in general. Not one at heavyweight.. yet. He beats Joshua again and Usyk he just might be, especially considering that the cruisers of today are the size of most 70s heavyweights
You meant he beats Joshua again &...Himself? Or you meant to say if he also beats Fury. If he beats both, he still would have too thin a HW resume to be an ATG-but then arguably he could be H2H.
Yeah i meant Fury lol. Realistically you are correct. If Usyk retires after being undisputed at HW his heavyweight resume is good but not ATG level. But H2H he would be very formidable
Uysk by unanimous decision. Ike would present some challenges early, but in the end, his predictability, porous defense, and lack of speed would play right into Oleksandr's hands. Most musclebound boxers find it difficult to throw straight punches, and Ibeabuchi was no exception. Even his jab was crooked and susceptible to being timed. Usyk would see Ike's arching punches coming from a mile away and have no problem anticipating them. A stylistic nightmare for "The Nightmare." This content is protected
I like Ike in that one. He’d be coming and coming after Usyk and if he could catch up to Byrd he could catch up to Usyk. Ike had a great chin and really good power. If Tua couldn’t stop him Usyk Isn’t either. Style wise Ike is a troubling match up for Usyk.
Ibeabuchi by murder. See how he dealt with former world heavyweight champion the skillful Chris Byrd.
Usyk might be an ATG but Ike was a real special fighter a skilled boxer puncher. I think he was even better than Sonny Liston. So well schooled excellent ring generalship. Was just watching Ike’s fights again. Power, skills, ring generalship, punch variety, durability etc.
He was not green at all. He was very good but Ike was just better a proper ring general. He knew enough to target Byrd’s body and arms in the early rounds before putting his lights out.
