    Go with Tyson.

Usyk is a great fighter; but he lacks the firepower to keep Tyson away and lacks the chin to endure prime Tyson's relentless pressure.

I know there are those that believe Usyk could drag this fight out a bit with Tyson, but I still think it ends very early in a W TKO for Tyson.

Must explain Usyk’s abundance of knockdowns throughout his career.

    Here we go again.

Glowacki, a modern fighter and former Usyk opponent, entered the ring at just above 200 pounds. The same is true for Cunningham and Adamek when they were fighting at cruiserweight. The fact that Usyk and Gassiev choose to gain additional weight as heavyweights should not be taken as indication of what they weighed when they were at their best at cruiserweight.

Please, in future, refrain from passing off GUESSES as fact. If you don't have the official weights, you could, at the very least, choose not to spread misinformation on the board.

So the most egregious example you could find after searching was a 29-pound increase. That would make that quite the extreme case, no? But I see that you went on to conclude that, "anybody who fights at 229 or less should be able to make cruiserweight". Brilliantly worked out.

The "logic", and by God I use that word loosely, Cojimar has applied here is staggering in its jejune nature.

There are 100s of documented fight night weights in the day before weigh in era. Of them all, Zurdo's 29lbs increase is the highest. Aside from a couple of other extremes, it's a substantially higher increase, in both absolute and proportional terms, than all the others.

In terms of weight gain between weigh in and fight night, Zurdo is a freak. A complete outlier. Even then, 29lbs is a far higher increase than his other documented gains, so much so, that I question it's veracity.

Either way, using it as an example to say any 229lbs fighter could make 200lbs and rehydrate to 229lbs the next night, is akin to saying the most documented punches thrown in a fight is the 1,675 Antonio Margarito threw vs Joshua Clottey, therefore any boxer can throw 1,675 punches in a single fight.

I don't have to engage in guesswork to know Mike Tyson is closer in weight to Dorticos and Gassiev than AJ and Fury. Thats simple math.

Questioning his lack of credentials at heavy is silly given how much bigger todays heavyweights are than Tyson who was closer in size to his cruiser opponents.

Frazier and Norton were not much over 200 pounds at their best but nobody has any issue bringing them up as evidence of Foremans power.

If a 210 pound Norton and 205 pound Frazier can serve as evidence of Foremans power than I think we can extend the same courtesy to Gassiev even if for the sake of argument we say his opponents were barely over 200

Wlocardczyk was never stopped in more than 60 fights except by Gassiev. If you think he sucks fine but the guy clearly was durable and hard to stop.

None of this has anything to do with Greg's clinical dissection of your previous logic.

Today, everyone is picking Tyson, and that is fine. I have said over and again that the Tyson who existed between Berbick and Spinks was a human wrecking ball.

But let's bump the thread in 10 years. When Usyk retires undefeated, never having been so much as knocked down...well...he is going to be appreciated in hindsight by those who missed the moment.

I do agree. However, Usyk is beloved in the classic forum by us die hards. I would pick Usyk to probably beat Holmes for instance. I think Usyk is a rare active boxer who is almost as beloved by classic fans as the classic fighters of old.

i just think Tyson is a bad stylistic match up for him. I just rewatched Usyk-Beterbiev in the Olympics as well as his fights vs Bredis and Chisora. He stylistically isn't that suited to guys who are short, stocky and can pressure him. He rarely uses the uppercut vs incoming fighters which is one of the reasons i don't think he wins this one.

But he is a bona fide ATG. I love him. I think his stock is extremely high and will only go up over time.

Tyson wouldn't have to rehydrate anywhere near 29 pounds to make cruiserweight. I brought up Ramirez to show an 18 pounds rehydration is far below what is possible. In fact its routine in other weight classes.

Like Crawford weighing in at 135 and rehydrating to 153
Or Pavlik weighing in at 160 and rehydrating to 178
Or Julio Cesar Chavez jr weighing in at 161 and rehydrating to 181
