LOL delusional please stay in the 70s you clearly are still stuck in that era with such a idiotic take. Newsflash most of Alis wins would be mid contenders or regional level fighters if they fought in the modern heavyweight era.

If you live long enough, you'll know a lot of fighters across myriad eras and divisions, but it doesn't mean you know what you're watching. A lot of these people stuck in the past and highly biased prove that. If anybody thinks Usyk would be a journeyman or regional contender in another era, they're not worth debating. Guy's a legit ATG and it's embarrassing to suggest otherwise.

Ali as always is reaching comic book proportions… he was extremely mortal, like all the fighters we love, his prime consisted of a never really that good Liston and??? The other stand out is almost being KO’d by Cooper - There are people saying Usyk was about as fast as Sonny Liston??? Okay lol. Ali would make him look slow? they’re not that removed for speed, Ali benefits if anything from poorer quality video… just because he goes around saying he’s the fastest doesn’t mean you have to nod along and act like it’ll be the make or break… it was always a “bit” he was fast but not magic… both guys are fast. People are throwing in a few buzz words like “Oh Ali would use his lead right!” Only green fighters should be getting hit with lead rights, you can sight the thing from miles away and how is he using it against Usyk? When? Why? Ali didn’t “outbox” and “win every round” against fighters like Chuvalo, Norton, Cooper, Lyle, Foster and Terrell? (He might’ve that time lol) he also certainly wouldn’t “Get the KO if he felt like it” when he couldn’t pull that rabbit out of the hat on a lot worse then Mr Usyk. Let’s try to have a discussion without being a$$ kissers. I don’t believe Usyk would win, I’ve called him an amateur but it’s a LOT closer then I’m getting from this thread.

Usyk is the more complete fighter and would give Ali fits, winning by decision.

I don’t know if I agree, I do think that a guy who when forced to box didn’t look that good against the likes of Lyle or Norton might not appear like Achilles here… let’s also add Usyk is a southpaw his size and things get wishy washy, Ali never beat any good southpaws Holmes famously got his head bashed in with straight lefts because he just didn’t know how to cope in the amateurs… how would Ali do at this level is anyone’s guess? But it couldn’t and wouldn’t be a “Masterclass” where he toys with Usyk until the mercy killing people are picturing lol there is a good chance Usyk could absolutely wash him on the cards the first time around.

He beat multiple 190lbers with chin issues… a puncher with chin issues who was never any good …and an injured one armed fighter who was never much better then decent then he got beaten into quitting with relative ease by Ali after a suspect blinding… ATG?

I see Usyk beating him the first time around, Ali hadn’t faced something like this before it’s just the way the cookie crumbles. I imagine after a long camp of using up southpaw sparring partners it’d be a close second bout.

67 Ali was just too good. I think Usyk would make it quite the fight, but Ali's movement and hand speed was next level.

Usyk would make the distance, might end up a majority decision.

I would favour peak Ali in a very close fight, but by no means a lock.
Usyk is a great fighter in any era. Ali pretty much beat the top 10 in 2 separate decades is often seen as the greatest heavyweight champion.
    Skill wise very little difference.
I think at that point Ali would be faster and could win a competitive decision.
Usyk definitely has paths to victory though.

Only in your mind. The problem with some of you is you think boxing started when you started watching it. Trust me , it didn't, and it was doing fine before you got interested.
The sport itself has regressed, especially the last twenty or so years. There are many reasons for it.
I could explain it to you.
Like I could articulate WHY there's no way in the hell Usyk would beat Ali and many other ATG's from the past.
I could break it down for you.
Unlike you , who's only argument is basically " He's new, so he must be better" , which now has superseded " The invincible super heavyweights". hype of a few years back. Ironically. It was Usyk that broke that narrative.
I could explain in detail why Ali would have a very easy time against Usyk prime vs prime.
But your arrogance has made you narrow minded. You'd only see the tree, not the Forrest around it.

I believe that Usyk is the unique anomaly exception and this era does not deserve him.

Ali would struggle with this southpaw.

Peak Ali vs Peak Usyk --> 50:50 toss up
Prime Ali vs Prime Usyk --> 45:55 in favor of Usyk, because Usyk is more consistent and can keep performance levels year by year

Anyway they are both super special. Ali is the greatest boxer, Usyk is the best boxer.

I think Ali’s speed gives him the edge. Will beat Usyk to the punches. Usyk is dealing with a ton of much slower men with no stamina

I agree it would be close.

But in terms of speed they are not comparable. Watch footage of 67 Ali. He is considerably faster than even the cruiserweight version of Usyk.

Prime Ali speed (handspeed and footspeed) : 10/10

Prime Usyk speed (handspeed and footspeed) : 8.5/10

Usyk looks very quick compared to the guys he is fighting but in terms of speed, it isn't even close. I am someone who gives Usyk a pretty decent chance here but we have to be objective here. Usyk isn't as quick as Ali or Tyson.

lol!!!! Usyk REALLY has certain individuals feeling uneasy doesn’t he?!! The poll results are laughable.

If an EIGHT fight Spinks could beat Ali… Usyk sure as hell can.
