I think Magomed Omarov could have a chance at being a significant heavyweight in the professional ranks, should he fight professionally. I'll be interested to know how well he does in the future. I have a hunch he's going to be the gold medalist this tourney. Omarov is tall, moves well for his size and punches with leverage. If his timing is good enough to offset an opponent's speed advantage and if he can take a hard punch I think the sky is the limit for him.

On defense he'll sometimes stand at the end of his opponents punches while covering up with a high guard letting them hit his gloves. That isn't his main defense, he isn't one dimensional like AA or Huck, Omarov can slip punches but he does it on occasion when he's tired i think but its a flaw he needs to eliminate. Just take a half step out of range instead. He also gets sloppy with his technique when punching inside sometimes but both are relatively small flaws that could be easily corrected.

6'9 Ivan Dychko from Kazakhstan, Medzhidov, Filip Hrgovic from Croatia (not at Olympics) and Sergei Kuzmin from Russia (not at Olympics but beat Omarov 2x at Nationals) would all be equally good pro HW prospects imo. Savon and Zhang too but i doubt either goes pro.

    Felix sanchez, Puerto Rican lightweight...

The japanese lightweight that lost.... he has a klitschko-esque style... and he's tall...

    Jose Ramirez from the states...

Carlos Estacio from Ecuador.... strong sturdy guy... Almost like Juan Urango but less crude

Veitia Soto impressed me in his first round match and he's still only 20. Let's see what can do against Zou on Saturday.
