A weight drained Cotto can't possibly run.

It's rather embarrassing for the trainer to admit he underestimated the opponents strength, on top of not having a plan B or C, nor saving your fighter for another day. Beyond that, I put a lot of blame on Cotto himself for picking said bum of a trainer. Cotto's strength coach worked miracles as it looked like Cotto still had a lot left in the tank. It's just that he was totally outclassed so all that fitness went to waste, though it probably had a big reason to do with how he was able to take the punishment.

When Roach was asked whether Cotto would win if "he" was training Cotto, he said Manny would still win. Hyperbole or truth? I tend to think Cotto fought a very solid first round until the 2nd when Manny started in with his flurries which unhinged Cotto.

Manny took cottos jab away from him and from that point cotto had no choice but to brawl. In the latter stages the jab would be countered by a right hook left uppercut combo between the gloves. Lederman commentated that 'manny is putting cotto where he wants him to be in the ring and then wrecking him with both hands'.

Also the lack of a powerful straight right hand showed itself in the fight. If cotto had one he would always have followed up his strong jab with a right hand.

i believe that first round was a ploy.... counter punching is the only way to beat pacquiao, in the third round , cotto gets hit everytime he throws that left jab..

Or PAC was on roids, PED's, HGH ect.....or the fact that Cotto was a shot fighter after his loss to Marg...even though he had a great performance agaisnt Josh. No way PAC beats a half way decent Cotto.....clearly this win for PAC is b/c of luck!

Cotto's sparring partners sucked balls. No that is not a reference to Paulie Malignaggi.

this is totally true, but cotto is so arrogant that he wont let no one whoop his ass in sparring so **** him.

Porter fights sometimes at 160 and cotto's sparring partners looked like cab drivers, it was ridiculous. Same thing happened training for margarito.

Here's the primary factor: Cotto is a solid fighter, Pacquiao is a great fighter.

The mistake was firing Gato who was doing his "thang thang" on Cotto and pulling of some those feared "Gato moves".

the reason why pac beat cotto is because when they stood toe-toe pac could take cotto's punches, but cotto couldn't take pac's.
