The full fight would be a rare film. I know a hard core Joe Louis fan would be interested in this one.

 

The only film I've seen on Dixon is the 1906 ex match vs. Chester Leon on mutoscope. Dixon is past his best but does not impress with skills, which is a little disappointing since he was still active with boxing in 1906.

By contrast Jim Corbett looks very quick and skilled in films that were taken when he had been out of the ring for years.

I actually don't mind mutoscope for film study because it offers a superior freeze frame.

My favorite Mutoscope moment is Sharkey vs. Jeffries II, seen for about 3 seconds in the movie the Night They Raided Minsky's. I programed my DVR one day and watched the entire movie to see the clip which happens close to the end of the movie when a campy like brawl takes place in an arcade.

During the brawl someone bumps into a machine and behold there they are. Sharkey charges in like a bull and throws a left hook that starts at his waist and end up in the rafters. Jeffries ducks it! There is also a skilled boxer hitting the bag if memory serves. Not sure who he was. Could have been Corbett, or perhaps Jack Dillon. Do you know?

 

Is there some of prime ezzad charles or prime archie moore fights?

I've never understood this whole thing about keeping fights to oneself and not sharing them. When Mendoza found that Langford vs Jeannette film and was one of the very few to be able to access it a few years ago he showed it to me and was very cool about sharing it. I think otherwise is a bit twisted. It's not like a rare comic or baseball card w huge value. The peanuts made trading them is not a big deal just my thoughts.

 

I checked my notes on the film and it shows highlight of 4 rounds 6 minutes.
