Maybe it is just two professional boxers finding out that there really was a reason they had been paying a promoter all these years? :yep
i think it does, but the recession will neutralize that. if we werent in a recession, more seats would b sold
I'm going to see Taylor-Lacy... wouldn't it kind of be ironic if it does better than Jones-Calzaghe. Well, I'm also going because it is within proximity of where I live.:yep
Nah...the casual fans are just smarter than us. We're all excited, but it'll probably be a slow, tactical SD. :tired p.s. not sayin' i'm not buyin' it, cause I definitely AM. :yep
UK didn't have Bush ****ing up their economy either so good riddens to Bush and good luck Obama digging out this hole.:good
Jones can't draw, even in his prime,,,,What calzghe needed to do is bring in some irish an italian fighter from euro, an pitch the fight like that,,,,,,this fight could be jones hometown in flordia, an it still wouldn't sell out,,,unless of course the welsh people wanted to go have some fun in the sun...
7k/20k damn that stinks, make all fights in England or Germany from now on. This is pathetic to see great fights like that only have very few attending, if there's no interest in Boxing in America anymore and only interest in UFC and such laughable rubbish then move the big fights to England from now on please.
This isn't to do with the credit crunch, its to do with the fighters... Joe vs Kessler had appalling ratings on hbo Joe vs Hopkins wasnt deemed pay per view worthy, and was a **** fight Jones is way past it Americans arent going to pay a lot of money to watch a guy they don't like or know that well (Joe) fight a guy who is completely past it I'm glad this fight won't be the huge cash cow they want it to be, it shows fight fans are more discerning than to waste their money on worthless bouts and hopefully promoters will see this and strive to make meaningful fights instead
