Headlining a Matchroom show in Tuscany on Thursday, on DAZN. IBF super welterweight International title on the line, 1st defense of Fiordigiglio.

Both of these guys found their level and topped out at decidedly short of world class, but still capable of whooping ass pretty much anywhere south of that highest tier. Both also have records that at first glance might suggest they are light hitters (if not total feather-fists, with Eggington boasting a stoppage rate of just 46% and Fiordigiglio an even lower 39%), but anybody that has watched their exploits on the Italian or British domestic and broader European scenes knows they both have deceptive pop.

Fiordigiglio was last seen receiving a hometown gift over the negative (but effective) Dutch pot shot artist Stephen "The Chosen One" Danyo in this same Florentine venue to capture the vacant International belt he's defending this week:

Eggington is two confidence-builders removed from a brutal knockout loss to countryman Liam Mark "Beefy" Smith in March. He got absolutely savaged:

So neither is having a wonderful 2019, in terms of form. Let's see which man can use the other's skull for a foothold to climb themselves up to a meaningful payday once more.

In the co-main event, another Italian veteran, Devis "Boom-Boom" Boschiero, will go for the vacant super featherweight version of the same title, against unbeaten Iván Tomas Carbonneau of Barcelona. The last time Boschiero held an IBF trinket was his reign as Youth super featherweight champion in 2006-07.

Iván is a dozen years Devis' junior. His previous biggest step up was a challenge of Frank Lipher Urquiaga Cruzatt for the vacant Spanish lightweight title (resulting in a majority draw).
