No matter if you like Ortiz or not, he puts on a show. There aren't many fighters regularly on HBO or Showtime who do this consistently. Being the best doesn't necessarily mean your a popular fighter or you entertain people when you fight (case in point, Andre Ward, Rigondeaux to name a few). Appreciate him for what he is; an unpredictable, young and exciting fighter win, lose, draw or quit.

Your better off watching WWE or MMA.:verysad
Try Soap operas if that doesnt do the trick.

Why do people care so much what casual fans think? I don't give a damn what they think about boxing!!! I only care about my friends and I enjoying exiting and unpredictable fights......artdawg is right on this one.

With Rigo it's not that he's not exciting for knocking people out, he just doesn't have the vulnerability of an Ortiz which makes his fights lack excitement

    No he isn't

Here's a quick 10 fighters that are more exciting than him:

    Martinez
    Mattheyse
    Broner
    Gamboa
    Froch
    Khan
    Maidana
    Seth Mitchell
    JMM
    Rios

Not saying Vic isnt a fun fighter too watch, as I think he is, but he is not the most exciting just the most unpredictable. The reason he isnt the most exciting is with the exception of the Berto fight he usually quits or commits to dirty acts when the fight gets tough.

Well after you quit against Maidana, headbutt then refuse to get up vs Mayweather, and quit on the stool vs Lopez, there is a bit of a patten there.

Because part of Boxing's problem right now is that there aren't really many casual fans so we are watching what is known as a "niche sport". Therefore, less talented people want to participate in it, fewer fights are made, we don't get to watch for free on basic networks, there aren't enough mainstream fans to demand that the best bouts get made, and we get stuck with GBP Hype Jobs like Quitor rather than real Warriors who would be worth watching.

Why anyone is saying that a Glass Jawed Quitter who flakes out at every opportunity is a good thing for Boxing is beyond me. I am convinced that the majority of this forum consists of spotty faced teenage hero worshippers and morons who would do better to follow Tiddlywinks or Curling.

    :rofl
Ortiz'last four fights > technical fighters like b hop, abril, molina n alexander to be put on cbs, the station would pull the plug half way through the crafty fighters card.

You are obviously unable to catch the correct wave length here on this thread, let me simplify, Gamboa and Rigondeaux and..... Leys say Orlando salido are what you are praising, walk down the street and try sparking up a conversation with a random person about them, although they ate great n talented fighters, no one knows then our follows then, even if you were to tell then how much talent tge cubans have, but mention victor, or if they dont know tell em about the dude that was "the next big thing" n quits his fights, or the dude that tried to hug n make up and got suckerd punch k.o.d n I bet they will google him, you obviously don't catching my drift.
