Deonkey didn't exactly jump on Stiverne, I'm pretty sure just the gust coming off his windmills would've knocked Stiverne down that night. I do agree that Wilder handles Ortiz easier in this fight, I'd like to be wrong, though.
Luis looks to be in great shape, he has been very busy lately which is good for an older fighter and it would seem he's coming to win. Looks to me as though Luis is coming to box to a UD and he may just do it if he can avoid getting knocked down and out this time around, but I expect Deontay to knock him out again, maybe even easier.
I can't wait for tonight. It should be a shootout. The people on this board never have a kind word to say about Wilder and Ortiz because, despite all the bull people on this board spread around, those two arguably put on the best heavyweight title fight in 2018. And the guys they root for - Joshua, Usyk, Fury, etc - have looked like garbage of late. Fact is, if Ortiz weighed in yesterday to fight Anthony Joshua in Joshua's first comeback fight since losing to Ruiz, or if he was fighting Andy Ruiz in Ruiz's first title defense, or if he was fighting Oleksandr Usyk after Usyk looked ordinary against Chazz "freaking" Witherspoon ... most of these guys would be freaking out and half would be picking Ortiz to win. Since Ortiz is fighting Wilder, we're getting the same nonsensical "how old is he" threads people think are funny but we've seen a thousand times. I hope we get Foreman-Lyle II tonight. I think the main difference between the first fight and this one could be Wilder's weight. He'll be close to if not over 220 by the time the bell rings. He should be stronger than he was for their first fight, where he claimed he came in so light because he had the flu. And he made need the extra weight. Ortiz looks strong. Could be a short night. Both guys are going to bring it. I hope the fights before it aren't too boring. I'm ready to see a war.
WTF??? Ortiz looks horrible!’ The loss in weight maybe clear indication that he is not juicing! This guy is cashing out! Farce of a fight
Ortiz looks the same, soft around the middle and old as hell.. Ooops, you must mean his new haircut, yeh incredible shape. :-/ Wilder should KO granddad in under 4, or its a terrible night for the WBC champion
It's a rematch of the best heavyweight fight from last year. If this fight is as good as their last one, you should start a thread thanking them. Because all the other top heavyweights entering this year have been miserable failures.
Haymon is that you??? Ellerbe??? Bs my man!!! If you want to spend your hard earned money and be a trick go ahead! I’m saving my money for Christmas gifts!!!
I am not sure where people are getting this "lowest ever weight" from. Perhaps the misinformed woman on the telecast at the weigh-in. Out of Luis Ortiz' 32 bouts, he has weighed in less than this "career low" 18 times. Eighteen. Luis Ortiz' first professional fight, he weighed in slightly heavier at 237.5 lbs, but his lowest ever weight was 217lbs in 2012. The bout prior to that one, he weighed in at 235.
Wilder will win easily if he controls the action and does not try and get in a brawl. But he is a little sloppy and favors landing over defense, which could mean being countered and hurt and then stopped. I think he will win, but that is up to him not taking chances and fighting his fight.
