Povetkin & Ortiz are both good fighters but both are getting old. There are 'drug issues' going on atm with Ortiz as well so do you think either of these fighters will win any world title at some point?

I think Povetkin vs Parker will happen after Povetkin has taken care of TBA. And he'll probably win.

At this point it doesn't seem likely, since neither can even make it to the ring and both are pushing 40.

It's so hard to predict, we have literally no idea what awaits Ortiz in the near future. His rankings with the WBA is on ice while they conduct an investigation (so he may or may not be reinstated as Joshua's mandatory) and his WBC ranking hinges on a pending medical exam meaning he also may or may not be given his shot at Wilder eventually as long as he stays with Haymon.

Povetkin I'm more confident will be frozen out for as long as possible as he still has ~14 months left to serve of his WBC ban, he is still on an intimidating streak of wins and the organisation he is likely to be made #1 challenger for (WBO) has literally just had their last mandatory in September and likely won't order another for at least a year. So I can see him being made #1 after beating Hammer in December and then being put on the back burner until Parker has had his big money fight against Joshua (likely around Feb/March). After that Hearn wants a big summer unification against Wilder which will put the mandatory even further back at which point Povetkin will be 39 coming up to 40 and who knows how faded he will look by the time he's given a shot.

So I voted neither, unfortunately. Two tales of what could have been.

I think Povetkin outboxes Parker if he can get that fight before AJ/Wilder do. Other than that i dont see either one of these guys as a World Champion

I'd put money on Povetkin beating Parker or Wilder. I think he'd have a good chance against Joshua too.

    But he's aging fast.

He needs to get a title shot before incontinence becomes a problem.

Povetkin will beat Parker and then have to wait until he’s in his 40’s for the big unification showdown with either Joshua or God forbid he still has the WBC hostage... Wilder.

    Neither of them will.

And rightly so. I know Povetkin is lauded on here but the facts are they’re a pair of cheats. **** ones at that. Couldn’t even win titles whilst cheating.

Ortiz had a window that has passed, IMHO. Povetikin might be able to win a belt but I wouldn't bet on it.

How many years did Povetkin duck Black? HIS PED using add isn't allowed to complain. They should entertain us by fighting each other. Ortiz has no real fans when he isn't a vessel for hate, that's what he gets.

Worst comes to worst they could fight each other. The winner would have a good case for being challenger that can't be ignored.

Too bad they have nothing to offer each other. Povetkin gains nothing by beating Ortiz, who lost his mandatory status and Ortiz at this point is chasing title holders.

    Unlikely.

They’re phenomenal fighters both, but they’re just too old.
