So you would turn down 20 or 30 million dollars? I think that once the money was on the table you would reconsider. And I don't mean that as an insult, like you said you will never be in his shoes but I think that just about everyone would do the same thing. Just look at all the fighters that are seen as having tons of heart. All of them have spent most of their career calling out Oscar or they dropped everything on demand when Oscar told them to.

Margarito called out Oscar after beating Cotto despite there being more significant fights out there.

Winky I can't remember the last time he didn't call out Oscar

Hopkins. Was willing to take a small fraction despite being the defending champion after he wouldn't even take a 60/40 split for a chance at redemption against Jones

Vargas - Called out Oscar from his very first pro fight.

The list goes on and on and on and on. Money runs this sport and like I said I don't mean it as an insult but I think that if you were pro and thought about your family and their future, you would do the same thing.

I'm talking about Oscar too. Fans pay him obscene amounts of money based on just his name. He'd be a fool not to cash in on it. Imagine you some to work tomorrow and your boss says "man freddy you been selling insurance pretty good. From now on I am going to pay you big commissions even if you don't sell anything". Would you tell him no? That is essentially what happened with Oscar. The fans agreed to keep paying him and he said "sure I'll take it" don't blame him, blame the fans. The people that pay for jokes like DLH vs Mayweather but say that they wouldn't pay for Floyd vs Margo.

How is producing a fight that drew around 1.5 ppv buys screwing up boxing? Get real man, we get the fact that you hate DLH, now move along.

I don't know, as a fan.. it sucks that Oscar makes them rich and then they are pretty much done as a career "fighter".. they are rich now, and it's very calculated from there on out. No big $$$, then no reason to fight. It's the reason Floyd is retired, he has nothing else financially to really gain, he's stinking rich.. and he's healthy.

I fear Manny will pull a Floyd soon.

There's only really a few mega-fights out there for him.. and those are really just two: Hatton and Floyd.

He can make a million against Marquez or Cotto or Margorito.. but the multi-million's are only with Floyd and Hatton... and honestly.. I don't think Pac wants to fight Marquez again.. and Cotto and Margorito would have to pay big big dollars to make it happen.. money I don't think is there.

I don't see how anyone could disagree. The most popular fighter in the world got his ass handed to the fighter with the style who can potentially be the most popular next.

It couldn't have been any more perfect almost. It's like the boxing Gods knew what needed to happen, so Oscar passed the torch to the best candidate.
