What I remember from that fight was HBO showing Hopkins sitting in his dressing room shitting bricks because his future megafight payday was being flushed down the toilet right in front of his very eyes.
Sturm got screwed and I thought I would see more of him in the U.S. but that wasnt the case. What a waste of a career.
sturm was the more active fighter and lucky for oscar he didn't have a ko punch. oscar seemed to land the crisper shots, but sturm other than a snappy jab wasn't doing much either. it could of or should of been a draw or a one point win for sturm. oscar looked fat and after the fight looked beat up while sturm was fresh
My thoughts on DLH vs Sturm: Pre-fight Who the Fu@k is Sturm. DLH looks pudgy, didn't train for this fight. During the fight Dlh can't get past Sturms jab. Sturm's not really doing that much, but he is too strong for DLH. Oscar does not belong at 160. Post fight Sturm got screwed I guess DLH's check cleared! I scored it 7-5 for Sturm.
**** you. It was a clear robbery. None of that "could have gone either way" bull****. That doesn't apply to this fight at all.
One of the worst robberies of the decade. ODH was shooled all night long. Oskar only hit Sturms guard 90% of the time and Felix jabbed him to death. Because of the Hobs multimillion dollar fight they gave the fight to Oskar. At that night I lost most of my respect to ODH.
The only funny thing is that there are still such dumb comments about decisions in germany when things like Sturm vs. ODH or Diaz vs. Mag. are happening in the States. :roll:
Thats why I dont complain about fights in Germany or in any other country. The judges screwed the poor German against DLH. Sturm deserved the decision.
Sturm/DLH was so last decade, let it go. Diaz/Malig could have gone either way. but hell yeah we've had some shitty decisions here too!
