Obviously we all know that but you never know what might happen in boxing. For instance what if for some reason Cotto isn'tmedically cleared because of the cut? Mosley is the next best choice.

There's no harm in him hanging out and just waiting for the situation to develop and clear itself out. As long as he stays persistent who knows? Maybe Floyd WILL fight Shane. After all Top Rank and Floyd aren't on good terms and he could slip in. Is it unlikely? Sure. There's nothing wrong with Shane just sitting around and watching how things develop. Something good fall into his lap. For instance, Shane wasn't supposed to fight Cotto in November. It was supposed to be Margarito vs Cotto in MSG in November...but Paul Williams beat Margarito and Mosley got the rehab assignment basically. He might be hoping for something else to happen just like that.

And most importantly, Paul Williams and Goosen WILL wait for him. Believe me if the only other option is Dzinziruk on a B network (like Showtime or Versus) or waiting for Mosley, they will wait for him.

Trust me just relax WMM. Everything will settle itself out shortly.

Yep. When you wear an ABC trinket you are expected to at least pretend to defend it.

He isn't getting any younger in the mean time. If Cotto/Pac gets signed, he needs to move on.

I'm going to bet that if Pac/Cotto gets signed BEFORE Floyd and Marquez get ready to rev up the final week of their press run (I'll say late July/Early August-ish?), they'll use the Floyd-Marquez fight to announce a fight for Shane. Likely against Paul Williams likely in the vaunted Post New Years HBO slot.

Both Williams and Mosley are in the same boat and it looks like Mosley will remain there for a long time. After Mayweather and Pac's next fights it's pretty obvious the winners are set to meet leaving Mosley out of it yet again. Mosley might as well take any stay active fight if he's sure no fight can happen.

As I've said Scar, it seemed like from the way Oscar mentioned Paul Williams he knows Williams will always be there for a fight. I'm sure ONCE Floyd/JMM and Pac/Cotto tie each other up, they'll take a Williams fight.

He said it best, "They're both in the same boat." That's a subtle way of saying, "He'll be there for a fight."

I agree that Mosley should fight Cintron in the meantime.....it would be a slaughter but at least he's busy.

mosley should figth berto if he wants to be active and make boxing comunity talk about a clash between him and maywheter thas if he wins ,i heard i radio program the other day and they said gbp dont really like mosley thats the reason they trowing at him tough challengers such as collaso, margarito just to see if they can finish him of kinda make sense

Collazo was somewhat of a late replacement after Cintron stepped away so that's not fair.

As per GBP not liking Mosley, Oscar and Mosley seem to get along just fine together. It might be that Mosley is picking in his opposition. Shane probably doesn't contribute as much to GBP as Hopkins does though so I guess that might be an issue.

Good question. Many people forget how spectacular the Margarito/Williams bout was in that it was the same "two most avoided guys" fighting each other. This offers more of that but a bigger show. :good
