Great post. Floyd might be a great boxer (maybe even the best of this generation), but he's not some invincible demi-god that destroys everyone with ease.
But they act like it's a good win. Martinez was a part-time fighting, inexperienced boxer. If Margarito were to beat him in '09 or 2010 I could see him getting credit. And Antonio Diaz Are you guys just listing names for the sake of it?
Margarito is not overrated. He has never had a problem facing anyone, and never hid behind his promoter when it was time to fight. And no one in this world has any evidence that he cheated when he whipped Cotto's overrated ass. One of the Top 10 fights of past ten years.
I feel pretty comfortable saying FLoyd would have pretty much shut Margarito out, but you still can't give boxers "hypothetical wins". . . There's a huge difference between us speculating on what would have more than likely happened, and lil Floyd actually getting in the ring and doing it.
Nevada immediately cleared Margarito and here is another look at the suspect wrap, the crack that fans have been pointing out for ages..... its from 24/7 cotto vs marg 2 episode one which shows a clear angel of the wrap :deal its obvious he didnt cheat with Cotto and that felt marker or sharpie proves miguel lied about not havin anybody in the dressing room This content is protected
Actually he did, at the time Floyd was offered a career high payday for that fight. Floyd didnt like that so he rean to Goosen Tutor, got out of his Top Rank contract and got the Baldimor fight for the same money. However he didnt have the Baldimor offer until after he had turned down the Margarito fight. that was a fight he just didnt want back then. I have no idea why I mean people bring up the lineal title BS as foil but the reality is at that time Margarito, Cotto and Williams were the top dogs out there and Floyd chose the weakest link and justified it with the lineal bs. Just because a title holder winds up with the lineal title that does not mean he is actually the best in that divison nobody in their right mind would say Baldimor was better than Cotto Margarito or williams at that time that just isnt true. and while he took Baldimor, Margarito could have easily dumped that WBO title and fought Williams, but like any Champion he choose to take that fight he didnt want to do what Floyd did, and it costed him. However he rebounded beat Cintron and Johnson which set up a cotto fight, and the moment that fight was ready to go, a day or two prior to the fight, Floyd announced his retirement... Why?:think Perhaps Floyd wasnt ready to have the press ask him when he is going to face the winner...
