Unfortunately he is about as skilled as your typical backyard brawler. How guys like him(even against that level of comp) are successful blows my mind.
Effective power and raw power are two different things Haye has both. Guys like Ponce De Leon who are extremely crude with their work have some serious raw power. Abraham is very lazy which limits his effectiveness, but again he has one punch power, more so than Pavlik in my opinion
It does strike me, the way De Leon is successful. His technique and balance can be awkward, but when he shoots his left-hand, he can create dynamite. He made Ray Bautista look like a child. That was scary.
This right on the money. I've often quoted Bronco McKart when this subject comes up. He said "It's not that he hits ya that hard. It's just that everything he throws has somethin' on it." I'll take Bronco's opinion over that of the myriad of fans who keep insisting that Pavlik has awesome one-punch KO power. Boo
valero still has to prove he can KO or KD A-level and Elite fighters. until he does, i still can't consider him as a top p4p puncher.
