Pac accepts to be tested 14 days prior to fight!!!

The candidate himself–Manny Pacquiao–was the least surprised over the outcome of the fight for the lone congressional seat of Sarangani. A week after being proclaimed winner over the heavily-favored Roy Chiongbian, Pacquiao said there was not even an iota of doubt in his mind that he would bounce back from the humiliation that he suffered in 2007. “I didn’t have doubts that I would win,” said the 31-year-old boxing star during a recent interview while he was shooting a commercial. “I was confident that I was going to conquer another world.”
Pacquiao credits his long-term preparation as key to his victory, a win that ranks alongside his 2008 knockout of the great Oscar De La Hoya.

“I lost in 2007 because I was not prepared. This time, I had everything in place and I showed the people of Sarangani that I will bring about change,” said Pacquiao, referring to his donation of firetrucks, hospital beds and other basic needs the last two years.

Pacquiao got 120,000 votes, while Chiongbian only earned half, something the one-time construction worker and vendor described as being “the voice of the people.”

“The people of Sarangani really wanted change,” said Pacquiao, who is eyeing a return to the ring on Nov. 13 either in Las Vegas or Dallas.

Since he will now be also working as a lawmaker, Pacquiao said he has decided to cut back on activities that are close to his heart.

Told about his perennial participation in big-time derbies, Pacquiao said he would still take part but will no longer immerse himself the way he used to.

“I will greatly reduce my participation in derbies and other things that give me joy. I now have two responsibilities,” said Pacquiao, stressing that quality healthcare and education and the welfare of athletes as tops in his priorities.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao is hopeful that the Mayweather fight finally pushes through for November 13 “for the sake of the boxing fans from around the world.”

Pacquiao has agreed to be tested 14 days before the fight but Mayweather hasn’t come out with an official stand regarding Pacquiao’s bold move.

 

Mayweather won't fight in Dallas thats for sure, needs to happen.

 

For the sake of boxing fans around the World they need to build a 100,000 all seater in Las Vegas for the boxing matches...:yep

 

No boxing match should be more than 10,000. After that you are not there to see fights but the atmosphere. More than 10,000 and there are just too many people packed in.

It should also be mandatory for these venues to have huge screens above the ring for people who are having difficulty seeing.

 

I read a interview on the GF last night, I think it was a guy from the testing commission used to do the tests for Mayweather-Mosley and the guy said it's all well and good saying 14 days before fight but we test anytime we like..even on the day of a fight to prevent cheating.

 

i cant see mayweather allowing a 14 day cut off, considering mosley was up to the day of the fight, and im sure they have stronger suspicions on pac than mosley even with the whole balco fiasco

USADA even said themselves the 14 days would allow an athlete to cheat, mayweathers want an even playing and 14 day cut off isnt fully even

I think 14 days prior to the fight is stupid and defeats the purpose. Every athlete in every sport should be open to random testing of any kind. Such is the nature of professional sports. They either accept it or find another profession.

Nevertheless, if Floyd changed his rules now then that would give Pac all the fuel he needs to prove Floyd was dodging the fight. This would be the case if Floyds intentions are real or not.

 

Or at least a decent 25,000-30,000 seater venue. I've been in the cheap seats in the 23,000 MEN, the view is OK, you know what you are paying for and the venue is big enough that nobody is too cramped.

 

i thought the view was dire when i was up in them for cal lacy, thankfully i didnt watch the main event there, if you want to watch the fight comfortably in these seats you need binoculars

 

I saw Naz-Ingle up there and don't remember it was being that bad, looooong time ago though.

Either way, it would be nice to have the choice of being able to get a ticket like that in Vegas rather than the current situation where, after the casino comps have gone, there could be less than 5000-6000 tickets avaliable to "proper" fans for a big fight.

 

How great would it be if there were a few stadiums solely dedicated to boxing. 10,000 capacity, big screens, great view etc Warren could put all his shows on there while other promoters could rent it off him. During the week they could put on concerts etc but Fridays and Saturdays its fight nights. Maybe they could screen fights from America.

 

If they were screening big fights from America at 4am they could quite safely make the arena 1,000 capacity because no one would be there....;O)

 

Apparently Mosley/Floyd ended up being 18 days before. Something off the scene the other day. Did it go on further during 24/7?

 

I wish Pac would follow Floyd's lead and stop putting out press releases. Roach needs to shut up too. Everyone needs to STFU until the fight is signed.
