Top ten for Lopez, exact position is arguable, I suppose I instinctively banged him above Barrera to wind dan up. Another for the list, possibly above Barrera is Chiquita Gonzalez.

    ****, I forgot JMM :patsch

Gonzalez has a not great chin and decent, if not great resume going against him.

He beat Chang though.........where's the 'i'm depressed' emoticon?

DLH probably gave up every right he had to call himself Mexican with those shocking last three rounds against Trinidad.

Even though I had him a clear winner, you are playing fire in Vegas running all the time, especially against a King fighter :yep

Luke, I give Oscar kudos for that fight. He showed variety and immense ability, of course he shouldve stopped Trinidad and a true Mexican probably would've tried to. Trinidad did not look sharp, and with Oscars chin I have no idea why he didn't go for it, wen against a feted puncher like Tito.

We'd be looking at an immensely different boxing landscape if he had stopped him though. I'm not sure how Tito would've rebounded, which would've made Hopkins career different etc etc

The Butterfly Effect, causality and all that bollocks :rofl

    I don't get it either.

Trinidad was obviously the harder puncher but his timing was way off, he was basically given the fight on a platter. It wasn't that he won it, DLH blew it.

In truth, as good as he was, which was very good, that fight allows you to open up his entire career..... as harsh as it sounds, he was a 8-10 round fighter. He was on the verge of gassing against Vargas, gassed twice against Mosley, gassed against Mayweather.

Of course, you've got to give him credit because he fought everyone..... but Barrera did as well, plus Marquez and Morales who fought everyone bar each other.

Agree with allthe above BB: Oscar is not an ATG. He currently makes the low end of my top 100; when I can be arsed to revise it, I'm going to take a look at the company he's in and those around the outskirts of the top 100.

He's an awkward one to rank.

On the one hand he fought everyone, for every top liner he didn't face that was in his weight class and relevant at the time there are three that he did.... but six losses, none of them avenged, at least two of them were handed on a plate (Tito and Mosley I).

    ATG?

Erm.... it's a subjective term. When you are calling people like Toney and Calzaghe ''great'' fighters then DLH is gold plated, but down to the nitty gritty, nah probably not.

If he got the nod against Trinidad and Mosley each time then he'd be way higher, much like Marquez, whose entire legacy rests on the two questionable decisions vs Pacquiao, despite doing plenty against others.

If a fighter loses a decision but shows immense ability in that fight or if I felt he won it, I would give him the same credit when ranking him as of he'd actually won the official decision.

I feel Oscar won the 2nd Mosley fight, but absolutely didn't beat Sturm. I also think the Quartey win gets massively overrated due to a few exciting rounds at the end. Vargas is another fighter who gets overrated big time, and that Tito did a better job on him.

Tito is another hard one to rank.

I feel you're not taking into account how strong that 'juiced up' **** Vargas was that night. That goes down as a tremendous win in my eyes :good

Vargas may have been juiced up, but it still adds little to Oscars ranking. I rank it as a good win, no doubt.
