All the newcasts leading to the fight had a mention of a big fight featuring Pacquiao at Dallas Stadium......that I believe helped the sport fan know there was a big fight on that weekend.

:rofl 700K is in NO WAY a poor conclusion to any PPV card. Those are numbers that are way above average bro. And this was all done with PAC's stock.....no one else.

But I agree that this will be Floyd's reason to request a higher split which In my opinion means ****. PAC did better numbers with his fight with Cotto than Floyd did with his fight with JMM and PAC agreed to a 50/50 split. So if Floyd wins you can bet he won't be fighting PAC.......But...if Shane wins....he'll definitly step up to the plate to face Manny as his biggest challenge. Shane is about fighting and he'll make a fight with anyone.

Well Floyd said himself that comparing his ppv #'s with Marquez to that of Pac's with Cotto was unfair due to Cotto having a bigger name and fanbase than that of Marquez. I guess the same logic should apply here.

I dont think so.......I think it will do in the Pac-Cotto range, about 1.2 million.

People underestimate the Latino fanbase in these boxing PPV's.....
In the Pac-Cotto fight, Cotto brought in a huge chunk of the Latino fanbase.

Only true Latino boxing fans are going to buy Mayweather-Mosley.

Had it been Mayweather-Cotto instead of Pac-Cotto, I'd venture to guess the PPV' buys would have toppled 1.5 million easy.

Drawing 700 000 views from just one person! It's arguable that Pacquiao was the only reason that the fight made it to 700 000 views.

    Against common opponents

Against Oscar -> Floyd > Manny
Against JMM -> Floyd > Manny
Against Hatton -> Floyd > Manny
Almost certainly Mosley Floyd -> Manny -> Clottey

The only time Manny won was when he fought Cotto and Floyd fought JMM.

Men Lie, Women Lie, numbers dont.

How many more times does Floyd have to do bigger numbers before you guys just admit he is the bigger draw ? FLOYD SELLS MORE THAN MANNY !!!

    Good numbers, not great.

Hopefully, casual fans do not get jaded from Clottey's performance that they will not order PBF-Mosley - as that should be a better fight. Clottey's performance hurt mainstream boxing :(

The economy is improving and passing of the healthcare bill hopefully will provide the mental edge for the casual fans that are on the fence to buy the PBF-Mosley fight.

Nah.....Not that I don't agree....but Floyd's not gonna use that logic. He'll run with his numbers and ultimately kill any thought of re-negotiating to face Manny. The only way we'll see Floyd vs Manny is if Floyd gets the lions share and I don't think Manny will agree to that. We may see Shane vs PAC...win loose or draw in his fight with Floyd. I'd still watch Shane vs PAC if Shane lost to Floyd.

Even though we probably won't see PAC and Floyd duke it out....we will see a great fight with Shane and depending on how well Shane does with Floyd I think PAC vs Shane would do GREAT numbers regardless.

ANd then we'll be able to base who is the best by how they did against Shane. I guess that's the next best thing.

Floyd vs Mosley will have a 24/7, that's about 4 weeks worth of solid promotion, as opposed to a half hour. Plus, Mosley is already somewhat of a household name. Then, there is that fact that some people actually think Mosley has a chance...
Mosley vs Floyd will blow Pac vs Clottey away in sales.

But I personally think neither of these fights is worthy of PPV. Maybe if Shane was 10 years younger, but he's not so it isn't.

Pac/Clottey promotion was nothing compared to spending 20M in a span of 6 months promoting a certain fight.

Exactly. This is also the answer to the why Arreola is highly supported by HBO and the Klits are not.

For the most part, Latino fighters and fans are keeping boxing alive in America.
