I agree. Floyd's a big draw and he became a big draw after he fought Oscar. Same case with Pac, he wasn't a big name before oscar and the PPV sales he did with Marquez aren't an indication of his drawing power now since that happened before the Oscar fight. Let's just wait for the official numbers. But honestly I think this will exceed 1 million buys. Between the Hatton fight and the Cotto fight, Pac became part of Time's 100 most influential people, made the cover of the asia edition (with the 5 page article printed in all editions), the fight with Cotto got covered by the NY Times, Wall Street Journal, he appeared in the Jimmy Kimmel show, that's a whole lot of opportunities to get exposure and generate interest for the fight. I highly doubt all of that will amount to nothing. If it doesn't make more than 1 million, then hey, I guess 60-40 for Floyd if the fight with Pac pushes through is what will happen...
I will tell you now, if Pac did anything near 2 mill ppv buys with cotto. Then he deserves the bigger purse.
Yup, the issue should be each one's drawing power NOW, at this point in time. After all, they're not going to fight in 2008 or 2009. And at this point in time, Pacquiao is indisputably the bigger draw based on ticket sales, PPV sales and mainstream media respectability.
