Hmmmm. Well firstly you would have to accept that Lazcano almost KO'd Hatton, I don't. The fact of the matter is that Pacman is completely unproven against world class fighters above 130 at their natural fighting weight...Diaz doesn't count because he was so bad and not world class, and Oscar was a mere shell of his former self. If you guys want to look like ****s come May 09, go ahead and pick the Pinoy.... but you will look like ****s :deal
This forum is going to be a waste of ****ing time for the next 5 1/2 months. Theres too many people with absolutely no sense of perspective or proportion on this fight.
So are you blind? Stupid? Or just didn't watch the fight? He was hurt bad, he got saved because his shoe was untied
He got wobbled thats all (its on YouTube if you want to check), the "nearly KO'd" part is a story that gets exgerrated every time its repeated. Hatton had a virus before the fight and didn't train for the last week or so, his stamina and punch resistance were both probably afftected by this. Its not an excuse in hindsight, it was reported in the press in the week leading up to the fight.
OK Virus or not, he was hurt pretty bad, I just watched it again. Either way, I don't see anyway that Hatton can deal with Pacmans speed, that lead left will find its target the same way PBF's straight right found its target all night. If Floyd SR can make vast improvements for Ricky from now till then, maybe it would be much closer fight... but I don't think Pacman loses
Fair enough, I'll listen to any argument based on Manny being a southpaw and/ or fast (althouth Hatton is no slouch in hand or footspeed) but its this ridiculous punch power that some people are attributing to Pac these days that I have a problem with. The guy beat both Oscar and Diaz on accumination after hitting them for round after round, sure it was impressive from a boxing point of view but it shows his power at 135+ isn't as great as some people would like to claim.
My only concern about Pacman vs. Hatton is availability of tickets. I don't want to take a day off from work so I can be on the phone with Ticketmaster hours before the tickets go on sale. Last time I did that was Hatton/Mayweather. I was on hold with Ticketmaster two hours before the tickets went on sale. When I finally spoke with a ticket agent the jerk told me the fight sold out five minutes after the tickets went on sale which was bull****. I later found out Ticketmaster sold a lot of tickets to independent ticket brokers long before the tickets went on sale. Few days later brokers were selling tickets for a minimum of $1200 dollars - and those were the cheap seats. **** that.
