what he meant was lost in translation. yall know that pac is no english speaker. he thinks in filipino, then tries to translate it to English. rather than he doesnt know what steroids are, i think he meant he didn't know how they worked. what you said in the 2nd paragraph could be said of any other fighter. someone can eaily slip PEDs into anything you eat. in reality, you can't check for everything that you take in. if you put pac in bad light just because people around him could cheat for him, then all fighters in the world should be in question because they cannot possible know all the time what they are taking in. what you guys can't seem to see is that pacquiao worked doubly hard after he escaped with a win over jmm. something clicked inside him. you want to think that it was steroids, i'd like to think it was his mindset that changed him. pac is still not a regular welterweight. they have to constaly feed him so he'll stay near 147 for his fights. he is still a regular 140 fighter and going from 126 to 140 in a span of six years really isnt that surprising to me.
People just have no knowledge of boxing, weight lifting, drugs, etc. Much like the thread has said...pac has not increased THAT much weight! I broke my foot so I didn't get to be as active as I was (no boxing, running, swimming) just been able to bench, do upper body, etc, and I have gained 10 pounds in 2 months! I've also increased my bench by 20 pounds in the meantime...That's not that I'm on roids, but I just been benching A LOT. PEDs aren't going to make you hit harder. Your physichal WEIGHT (how much weight you put behind that punch), tecnique, speed, accuracy, timing, and how well your opponent takes it is what makes you hit harder! The people who say it isn't weight gain there worried about, but punching power...Must have not punched a bag, boxed, or have uhh COMMON SENSE. PAc simply has improved as a fighter, he's blazing fast, he's not dehydrated now (the weighin is usually his fight night weight), and he's just awkward to fight. His punches hurt so bad because he's awkward, and you can't see the **** coming. Not cause he's a straight up monster! He's muscular, and looks good, but by no means is the man the definition of a drug user at 5-5 145!
Sorry, can't give him the benefit of the doubt. I've never spoken to him in Tagalog so I wouldn't know where the confusion lies. It shouldn't matter though, because I feel he speaks English well enough. If you watch the last time he was on the Kimmel show, he spoke nearly flawless English. I don't buy the excuse that he's this fresh-out-of-the-boat guy who has never even heard of McDonald's. Hell, the guy has played Pac-Man before. If he knows it's a video game he sure as hell should know what a steroid is, especially when he's been in the sport long enough. Furthermore, Thailand has been or is known for a wide distribution of steroids. Manny has spent a good amount of time there in the past. I see that he's worked his ass off. But you must do further research on PEDs. There are types that allow an individual to train longer and harder than he naturally can. He probably thinks his sudden boost of energy is due to taking vitamins. Or he could be fully aware of what he's taking. Either way the signs are there. You can't sit there and tell me everything seems perfectly placed and nothing sounds funny or suspicious. Guess what? Each and every boxer in the sport is a suspect, including Floyd himself. I see nothing wrong with this because we are in the Steroid Era and we've seen fighters in the past cheating the system. When circumstances change you have to be willing to change as well. Don't cry foul play just because someone calls you a suspect. Instead do something to prove them wrong! I don't like to go through a pat down search at the airport. But if it makes everyone feel more safe and be confident that I'm a good citizen then I'm all for it.
A pat down search at the airport is standard, non-invasive, applies to every single person that flies and is a rule instituted by the organizations controlling the planes and airports. You're making a terrible analogy. You want a fair one? How about if you are an Arab Muslim at the airport carrying a Qur'an and minding your own business, and the guy in line behind you points at you and calls you a terrorist and says you have a bomb in your underwear. Are you going to just strip naked for him? Nope. You're going to tell him to go **** himself.
You're reaching. My point is I would do something that I'm not comfortable for the greater good. Speaking of bad analogy....a blood test is a far, far cry from stripping naked. And for your information, if the extra search was reasonable, YES I would undergo such thing IF others have to go through the same thing as well. The key is to realize that a few blood test is definitely within reason. Now if Floyd asked for a semen sample, then anyone would have every right to tell him to fist himself.
THE GREATEST COMPLIMENT YOU CAN GIVE YOUR OPPONENT IS THAT YOU THINK HE IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN YOU THAT YOU BELIEVE HE MUST BE ON PEDs. This is the reason why I think Manny would win over Floyd if they fight. Because even Floyd implied so. He knows himself better than all of us. Having said that, now I wish Manny just accept the 14 day window so I can prove my above theory.
Void will have his chance to prove that Pac is a druggie in court! Void's fans should also testify, since they have so much proof!
