PAC is a Small Welterweight / Too Small for Sergio Martinez (Irrefutable Proof)

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by AmericanPsycho, Aug 25, 2011.

  1. Pac was hurt (body shots) in the Margarito fight and immediately said that he wouldn't fight above 150 again. This was before Martinez KO'd Williams.

If margarito was a middleweight he'll be alot bigger then martinez. Margarito freaking weigh in,at 165 pound on fight night at 151 pound catchweight. If margarito was a middleweight he'll be weighing at 176 pounds on fight night. Wasnt margarito weigh in around 180's before he face mosley?

Who hasnt been hurt to the body in fights? Weak a$$ excuse. And besides it didnt stop pacquiao of easily destroying margarito in a shut out. Dude pacquiao ear was destroyed vs cotto at a bs 145 pound catchweight.

Wasn't Margarito the same size as Sergio (as a jr middle, a weight which Maravilla has agreed to come down to) and didn't Margo brutalize an undefeated, yet green, Sergio?

So why bring up the size difference vs Martinez?

Pac's warrior spirit should be able to give Martinez hell for as long as the fight lasts and, if the moons, stars and planets give him the nod, Pac could even overcome Sergio in a FOTY candidate.

Pac is really a LW/JWW fighting at welter, he hardly weighs more than the welter limit in the ring. Martinez would likely enjoy a 20lb size advantage or more in the ring. The calls for Pac to fight Martinez are fanciful. That's just too much. This is not asked of any other fighter, let alone Martinez who has plenty of great fights for him at SMW, and consider Pac has already moved up 10 or so divisions in his career and seems to have maxxed out at welter with his small frame, always weighing in a couple lbs below the limit and only rehydrating a few lbs.

    This is a dead issue.

    Not even Sergio cares anymore.

You're neglecting the likelihood Pac will be sluggish and slower if he puts on more lbs on his frame. Speed and movement are critical to his boxing, he wouldn't be able to be as effective should he lose some of that carrying excess lbs, and he definately could not afford that against Martinez with his style.

And Martinez is a middleweight, has been for the past couple years. Margarito was a career welter who Pac fought at a 150 catchweight. There was a reason for the catchweight, Pac only weighed 148 in the ring. Sure Pac won a JMW belt, but people forget that fight was supposed to be at 147 initially before that scumbag Sulaiman made his WBC title available for the fight and Arum took advantage of it to help sell the fight.

Pac's not a JMW, never has been, never claimed to be saying he would never fight above 150 after the punishement he took from Margarito. Martinez could never get down to that weight without it likely draining him and making him weak, so a fight at that weight would be pointless too. People need to let go of this fantasy, the Mayweather fight is the only fight we need to see Pac take.

And yet margarito weigh in at 165 pounds on fight night @ 150 pound catchweight vs pacquiao. Martinez on fight night weigh in @ 168 pounds on 158 pound catchweight. If thats the case then Martinez would be weighing at 164 pounds on fight night at 154 pound limit and pacquiao can still weigh in at 144 pounds in the weigh in if he wants. So martinez vs pacquiao could happen but it wont cause martinez isnt a 1 dimensional shot fighter. They only middleweight fighter pacquiao would have no problem facing? Against chavez jr

How dumb and close minded can you possibly get? If you'd think a little, you illiterate ****, you'd know this:

    - Pac tried to go north of 147 ONCE. He got his ass kicked pretty bad against Margarito so he realized 147 is his limit. He's not going above 147 anymore, hence he VACATED that jr middleweight belt. Why the **** can you not understand that? (or are you one of those dumb mother****ers who believe Floyd Sr. when he said that Pac just pretended to be hurt?)

    - Margarito was willing to go down to 150. Sergio is not. At 150, Marg blew up to a 17lb weight advantage against Pac. If Sergio weighed in at 154, he'd have a 20-25 lb advantage against Pac (But you'd like that don't you? anything to see Pac lose.. lol ).
