Nonsense, he was more ripped at lesser weights than now and also faster. Pacquiao doesn't even belong in that weight category and he's chasing/scaring the best guys there away. Pac wasn't BUILT to be at that weight category.

Taking PAC is the risk. Not the weight. Cotto is a professional and knows before agreeing to any fight the risks involved. Given that PAC is the smaller man he also has advantages that he'll definitley take advantage of. The catch weight is jsut to make things even b/c it's a smalller man vs the natrually bigger man.

 

you have to say **** to hype a fight so ppl could buy them ppv...the last time i bought i bought a ppv roy jones got ktfo in 2....this should have been a regular hbo fight with the winner getting the ppv card vs floyd..true story

Nobody forced Cotto to take the fight,**** you guys act like this is the first catchweight fight ever.

Damn in one post you guys say Cotto will stop Pac and in the other you are complaining about the weight setting up excuses for sunday the 15th in case Cotto loses.

I hope Cotto pays the fine and comes in at 147 so there wouldnt be any excuses

 

If a single pound is the difference between Cotto coming in prime condition then he's not at his best or most effective weight of WW. He should be fighting at 154. Comming in at 146 with Josh he looked fine....he looked fine at 147 with Marg and Shane. The catch weight won't affect Miguel negatively at all....otherwise he wouldn't have agreed or offered the 145 catch weight to begin with. Plush his conditioning coach express strongly that 145 Cotto will be just as strong and ready as if he was coming in at 146 or 147.

faith...lol....fam i love boxing and cotto and pac...but basically i see this fight being similar to the diaz fight ...there aint no sugar coating this ****....if cotto dont come in at 147 he gonna get laid the **** out in brutal fashion....145= pac by ko in 4-7 rounds 147=pac by late stoppage or ud(which is better no one wants to see a four round fight)

First, Cotto didn't offer 145. Manny Pacquiao wanted to fight Cotto but he wanted Cotto to come down to 143. Cotto said he will never go under 145lbs. Thats is not an offer. That is a counter-offer. But the only reason Manny is in the position to ask for those condition is because the HBO machinery he has backing him up. HBO is so powerful that they are making the boxers aggree to this conditions to get big money. Even if this conditions put them at risk. If it wasn't for HBO big money Cotto would say: **** you!! IF you want my title we will fight at 147lbs. Just like the rules say.

 

No one is fooled about what PAC does b/c he is performing. He makes history by challenging himself and winning. If he beats cotto it will be b/c he's the better fighter...not b/c Cotto wasn't at his best, shot, weight drained or distracted. This fight between PAC and Miguel are between two champions from two different weight classes. One man is the best P4P the other is arguably the best WW. Again...if Cotto can't make 145 or claims he's weight drained b/c of a single pound then Miguel isn't a WW..he's a Super WW campaining at 147 to somehow..someway have an advantage over smaller men who are true WWs.
