Everything about championships and championship belts is decided by the ABC's, when are you going to realize that? :think What you'd prefer in boxing utopia is fine and dandy, hell I'd go along with it, but when we are talking about titles and records...these are the guys that set the rules. If the WBO and all the other ABC's say you can do that, thats all there is to it..he's on the welterweight title by the book.
I give up mate. I'm a realist but that doesn;t mean I think fighters should be able to re-define weight divisions that have stood for over a 100 years at a whim.
i was about to unleash hell on you but then you're probably one of these beans who picked Cotto to knock Pacquiao out by round 6. I feel pity for you more than any form of agitation.
If the 2Lbs is "neither here nor there" why was Pac so insistant about the catchweight...he obviously thought that he would be gaining advantage by demanding it. Catchweight fights should not be for titles :deal
Pacquaio is the only British fighter to win a world title on foreign soil on two separate occasions. Oh wait...
It was a great performance by Pac on Saturday night...I just feel guilty that I can't warm to the bloke, there is something just not right about the whole situation, I don't want to say anymore because if i'm wrong it would be a hell of a slander
Ignoring the welterweight argument, many people are saying that Pacquiao is now a seven-weight world champ. Looking at his record - his truly great record - I make it five weights: fly, super-bantam, super-feather, light and welterweight. Hatton was for the IBO title (ahem) and he bypassed feather.
I gave the :nono becauseI don't think that it would be approriate to discuss what I think...not as an indication of whether you were right or wrong in what you said
I get your point, but it has been suggested by quite a few people already. Any argument is a valid one as long as you're not trolling, which I'm sure you wouldn't be. I don't think he is, mind.
Good call, although I'm not 100 per cent sure that The Ring belt can be regarded as a genuine world title, more of a status thing, making Pac the best in the division. The IBO title means nothing, of course, just a TV tag.
