that is the thing people give mayweather **** for being bigger n this n that vs jmm but he just plain and simple out boxed him fk i wanted jmm to win but damn floyd is on another level as far as pure boxing skills go and that defence is insane i hope manny connects just to see how floyd takes it

Bad fight for Pac.I think the reach and height is a problem.Floy will stick the jab out keep PAC at a distance Pac lunging in and that's when Floy right and left hook counter is cocked and ready to time those rushes.Sometimes Floy is sneaky with it he'll throw it with speed like a cobra it's fast..

Although Manny might be quick enough to slip it and smart enough to negate that ****..

Manny chance is when Floy shoulder rolls on the ropes and that's when has to make it count somehow and make FLOY fight in close quaters.I just can't see Pac being comfortable with Floyd in the center of the ring.

Floys is too good for him with his speed and reach.

why do you care how many posts he has, geek, at least hes not online 247 like you, this is probably the most inteligible pot about this fight and it pretty much mirrors what i wrote about this before floyd fought jmm except i didnt go in to as much detail. Floyd is going to win this fight because his boxing iq eclipses roachs and pacmans combined and hes just as fast has better timing and dwarfs pac in terms of reach. Pac is awesome because hes generated so much excitement in to the sport i love and do, but this is a stylistic nightmare for him, but due to his ferocity and tenacity he does have a punchers chance, but its a punchers chance against arguably the best defensive fighter of the last 25 years.

Pac will take the early rounds but Floyd will figure him out like he always does, finding a way to win.

8th round TKO, Pac walks into a lead right from Floyd which wobbles him, Floyd throws another lead right and he hits the deck.

i don't think floyd is more powerful than cotto and pac's defense isnt exactly like hattons. floyd couldn't even ko a bloated jmm. this fight most likely will go the full 12 rounds if it happens.

Very well thought out original post ;) I agree with you overall with your general idea that the very things Pac-man is susceptible to happen to be the very things Floyd excels at, no question about it (counter-punching, lead rights, ability to control distance, especially with the jab to the stomach).

I noticed some mentioned that Pac has better foot work....this is simply untrue in my eyes. If you notice carefully, Pac is off-balance perhaps 70% of the time in his fights, literally...Take the first knockdown against Cotto. It was a straight left to the stomach and an awkward right hand hook while lunging forward....Sure, it was effective on Cotto, but Mayweather will be WAY too smart for that and punish Manny for that kind of work.

I also couldnt agree more with some of the posts in regards to what conventional fighters are susceptible to, the lead left. Ever since the De La Hoya fight, Manny has been using that quite effectively while spinning to his right. That could prove to be somewhat of a problem for Mayweather. Also recall that Mayweather WAS IN FACT (a flash knockdown no doubt, but his glove DEFINITELY touched the canvas) knocked down by Zab Judah's right hook counter after Mayweather tried reaching with a straight right to his body. I bring that up because Manny has become very accurate with that punch, and he could catch Mayweather with that just as Zab did.

Overall though, I give Mayweather the clear advantage to win the fight with the noted caveats above. I expect a shaky first few rounds for Mayweather and then an utter exhibition of skill en route to an UD12. No way he knocks Manny out though.

Lets just hope this fight actually happens! I say the terms should be winner takes all, that in and of itself would REALLY add to the suspense of an already amazing match-up.

In physical advantages..the biggest advantage Floyd will have will be his height and length...Floyd can fight tall..He is very good at it..

Pac has the footspeed advantage...He moves his body and feet to set up angles so that he could hit his opponents..FLOYD DOESN'T LET FIGHTERS GET ANGLES THOUGH...PAC GONNA HAVE TROUBLE IF HE CANT FIND ANGLES ON FLOYD...

One thing that people keep forgetting is that since the Diaz fight, Pacman no longer fights the same way every time. Roach now makes it a point to formulate a fight plan that is customized to each particular opponent. So, using Pac's styles and weaknesses from previous fights to craft your own gameplan is like a shot in the dark.

People point to Rounds 8-11 as proof that Pac is susceptible to a jab-and-move style, but you can take it to the bank that by the time the MP-FMJ fight starts, Roach will have addressed that deficiency.

very true, people think pac is still a crude boxer. he has the technique speed to beat floyd. trust me when they fight you will see the best pac ever. he wont rush in careless against floyd he will pick his moments but with speed and intensity, floyd aint fought no one like pac.

The last thing you want to do against a crisp counter puncher is throw a lot of punches at him.

Mayweather has an overrated defense. LOL!!

In the three common opponents that Pac-man and Mayweather share (Hatton, ODH, and Marquez)

Hatton connect percentage against Pac-man 23% (2 rounds)
Hatton connect percentage against Mayweather 17% (10 rounds)
ODH connect percentage against Pac-man 21% (8 rounds)
ODH connect percentage against Mayweather 21% (12 rounds)
    Marquez connect percentage against Pac-man (2008) 34% (12 rounds)
Marquez Connect percentage against Mayweather 12% (12 rounds)

You can love him or hate him, the fact is he doesn't get hit often.
