Pac v Hatton right hook ::VS:: May v Hatton check hook

Both are lovely lead hook counters, exploiting Hatton's aggression and his habit for telegraphing that leaping hook he liked to use.

I prefer Mayweather's, mainly because it looks so graceful and effortless -- he backs up, times the shot perfectly, and then slips off to the side as Hatton goes crashing into the ringpost. Speed, co-ordination, fluidity, timing. It's rare to come across such an aesthetically pleasing knockdown.

The Pac shot is another favourite of mine, though. I'm pretty sure I remember Roach saying that he specifically trained Pac to counter Hatton's telegraphed left...if that's the case, then I think it was because he analysed the Floyd/Hatton tape many times. So in a strange sense, this moment is actually Pac doing a rendition of Mayweather...but making it his own, rather than just copying it. Instead of the 'hit while backing up and then dance to the side' style, he stands his ground and puts more power into the shot before ducking and pivoting.

Both are great.

Yeah thats why I voted Mayweather too. He didnt have to hit him hard because he used his momentum and weight against him. Having said that, so did pacquiao.

 

Sometimes I think Hatton has nightmares where he is in the middle of the ring... in the blue corner is Mayweather, in the red corner is Pacquiao...

And ringside, Floyd Sr. can be heard stuttering something about Roach Coach..

The bell rings... Hatton wakes up in a cold sweat.

I feel bad for Ricky great fighter great run but he will go down as the guy who got knocked cold by Manny and Floyd

I was a huge Hatton fan and despite being a big Floyd fan I rooted for Hatton in the fight

I do think Pac's is better as Hatton was out for a long time

 

Yeah me too! Hatton was told what was coming and what to do and Ricky just couldn't because he lacks the skill of a great fighter regardless of how great the trainer is. And Sr. is a GIANT of an INNOVATIVE TRAINER and Ricky could grasp nothing intellectually.

I'd say even. Both excellently timed preemptive punches.

 

Both are great in their own right.

 

One knocked the bigger guy the **** out, the other knocked the smaller guy into the turnbuckle. Equal? Only in a stretch....

 

Nope, the right hook of Pacquiao's dropped Hatton. Hatton got back up.

I voted both, just because I could
