What no a no skilled big puncher with a metal plate in his head meets a two fisted whirling dervish Could be good i suppose.......much better fight than Hatton no chance
Valero is dangerous but not as high a risk as Hatton. #1...Ed has to MOVE THE **** UP just to make the fight a reality. #2...Ed doesn't know how his power will equate at 140...#3...ED is a 3 or 4 round fighter due to his early KO's......Plus he's not working with Size or strenght advantages that Ricky would be. Experince is lacking for Ed where Hatton has a couple of GREAT names on his resume. Over all Ed V is a step down in terms of legacy and Risky but non the less still risky. I see an easy win for PAC with Edwin at this pont.
This is actually true! yet he seldom shows it outside of Sparring. We all know it's there due to his sparring sessions that are well kwon and documented but in the ring the man is wild swinging free for all type of fighter....who is relying solely on his POWER which to this point hasn't let him down. Aside from the Mosquera fight where he did showcase some of that skill and composure he hasn't in any other fight.
FUN and EXCITING while it lasts!!!:good I love it! Plus Ed is PRIME! He's just sorely lacking experience. PAC will help him with that should they fight.
Valero looks awesome and has great technique in sparring, but it all seems to fly out the window once he steps in a real ring. I don't imagine a PPV would get many more buys than Pac-Solis. Not a big money fight at all.
That's fine! To each their own. Based on a full landscape I pretty confident that the TALENT LEVEL PAC is working with will compensate for the small disparity in POWER...if any at all! PAC is far more proven and versitle than Edwin at this point. Speed will be HUGE, so will versitility which ED seems to lack in actual fights. I'm not saying that "Betting your house" on PAC is smart....I'm just saying if you HAD TO BET your house...Going with PAC winning is 1000% more logical and realistic than betting your home on Valero. But you do what you want. There have been many "Born Punchers" who did not carry their power up with them. So for me....PROVE IT! Until then its all just speculation. But again...POWER isn't even a factor given the other tools PAC is proven to have. You have to LAND in order for you power to have an impact :good PAC may not be a proven @ 147.....but how is Ed proven even at 140? He's only had a couple of fights at 135 and most of his career and KO's were at 130! Not to take the wind out of your sails for ED...I'm just pointing out logical facts....do with them as you may.:deal But good luck!
That may be...but in terms of progressing as a fighter...a promision one at that he's sorley lacking much needed experience. You can be the hardest puncher in the world...that won't prepare you for guys that are on PACs level. Sure you always have a punchers chance! But chances are you won't get to see that power with a guy working with a wider skill set and more polished than the other.
I don't know about Valero's sparring but his technique in the ring is flat footed looking to land a big one.......I've watched a few waiting to be blown away. Hard punch on him though
Valero beat the hell out of ODLH in training camp as well. He embarassed Oscar so much that Bernstein threw him out of camp because he was afraid it would shatter Oscar's confidence. That was obviously a huge mistake seeing what happened in the fight with Pac. He is very skilled but has not needed to show it in his matches thus far except the Mosquera one. He had Mos down twice in the first and thought that was it before getting caught himself and smartening up real quick. He has a habit of fighting down to his opponents' level which shouldn't be an issue if he faces Manny. He frequently schools bigger boxers in sparring all the time so we know he can box when he wants to. I wouldn't be surprised if he gave Pacquiao a boxing lesson before laying the hammer down on Pac. All it would take is one punch. It's been so long since Pac has faced a young lion that's out for blood instead of running and being scared of his power. It might come as a mental shock to him.
I'll be disgusted if Pac fights Valero instead of Hatton. Also, I cant actually believe that people think that Valero is a tougher challenge than Hatton. Valero is a joke and would be soundly beaten by Guzman, Soto or any other of the top boys at 130/135. WHAT A ****ING JOKE.
I really hope Valero can pull it out of the bag like is been said on here.I have high hopes of the KO artist in him but I was deaply dissapointed when I watched some of the Japanese /Korean ? fights
Sparring vs Actual Fights are key differences! Yes...I like Valero..he's very promising but at this point he is not on PACs level. he definitley has skills and a great punch. But again.....At 140 who knows if he brings that up with him. PAC is working with a more versitle skill set and natrual ability that will be the difference. The fight will be exciting...NO DOUBT...but it won't last long. PAC can also punch and Valero was floored and HURT by Mosquera who is a decent puncher...NOT a BIG one like both PAC and ED are. Bottom line the build up to the fight has more substance to what will actually play out should these two meet in the ring. ED hasn't been in there with a fighter like PAC but PAC has been in there with plenty of "ED"s. Plus PAC spars with bigger men all the time....not that it matters b/c again...Sparring is sparring....Some use sparring to "WORK" on things that are problematic in fights...some GO ALL OUT as if it were the real deal but one thing is true, you NEVER, EVER judge or conclude how a fighter will do by what they show in sparring. Sparring is just a guage or a measuring stick.
PAC prepared himself by getting with Roach! Getting the proper training and working with the natrual abilities Roach saw in pac and doing his best to enhance those natrual gifts. I'm not even sure if Roach felt PAC would be the Great MAB! I'm not down playing the Ed win over Mosquera at all...it was a great win for a young, Green fighter like Valero! But it's not on the level of what PAC did against Mab, EM or JMM. I'm sure Valero is more than ready for the challenge of PAC......but being ready doesn't gurantee a victory when cards are stacked well against you. Ed is a warrior who has a lot of SWAG! He's confident in his ability and power.....Undefeated fighters sometimes have a false sense of being unstoppable. If you go in there with that kind of mentality you're in for a rude awakening!
There's no point fighting a green untested Valero. The other non-IBO belt holders would fall on their knees just to fight Pac for the price of a Big Mac. Pac should be better off fighting for one of them shiny trinkets.
