There are several fights I had him losing. Rivera and McGirt 1. Plus he got his ass dropped twice by a fighter he wasn't in Paq's league. He was trailing Diosbelys Hurtado and dropped twice before stopping him. Of course that was over two years after the McGirt rematch and one fight before he lost to DLH and a few fights. And a several fights before losing to Trinidad.

I have tremendous respect for Whitaker's ability, but I don't think he would be able to get Pac's respect with his punches and thus keep Pac off of him. I like Pac in a decision here, even given Sweet Pea's superior defensive skill.

However, I would not be surprised if Whitaker were able to win the bout, either. I just like Pac because of his relentless style and speed, as well as my thinking he could handle Whitaker's punch.

    Pac vs Marquez 1

when Marquez went forward against pac, he was getting Knocked Down.
when he started going on the back foot, pac was troubling to get a punch in, and hence getting countered

Sweet pea would just pedel back at a pace he enjoys, and do the do.

    Sweet Pea UD Pac

20 pounds and 5 years ago. Pac's a totally different fighter now. For one thing, he actually has a right hand. Also, he's much stronger now than then.

What Pac has that guys like Chavez, Trinidad and ODLH didn't have is superior speed. Could PW get Pac lunging? Oh yeah, and he would. But if Cotto didn't hurt Pac, I doubt PW would, even with a sneak counter. That means that Pac would be all over PW from the opening bell and likely to overwhelm him with punches and likely points even if he couldn't stop him.

Maybe PW could hurt Pac, but I'm not sure he could.

I'd have to look at PW's reach vs Pac's, etc, to get a better sense of that. The thing that PBF has, though, that PW does not, as much, is athleticism. I think PBF will beat Pac because he has the total package, including enough athleticism and ring quickness to keep Pac away if he wants and the power of a counter to hurt Pac if he catches him.

I'm not sure Whitaker has either the athleticism or power to really keep Pac off of him for the entire fight, that's the difference I see between him and PBF vs Pac. If PW just tried to dodge in place as he sometimes did, Pac would end up catching him and doing damage.

Cotto has incredible timing. We saw what happened to him. Timing and skill aren't enough to beat Pac, and his power seems to have only improved as he's moved up.

Cotto also has **** defense and average speed. I was surprised the HBO team was saying Cotto was as fast as Pac in round 1... but Pac was just warming up and didnt display his full speed until round 2 and then they shut the **** up with that BS.

Cotto's defense sucks, no argument there. His speed isn't great. It's his timing that makes him so good.

Cotto boxed great in round 1. He just didn't stay with it and/or couldn't keep it up.

There's only one fighter that can probably break Pac down due to not outfighting him but boring him to death.

Whitaker ko 9, not because he drops Pac but because Pac tires of chasing him and takes a nap in the ring.

Whitaker sucked, thank god the ****er's gone.

ok the same points i made about the marquez 1 fight can be put in todays context aswell

out of Pac last fights, Diaz, Oscar, Hatton, and Cotto

all of them got destroyed when they brawled with Pac, sweet pea aint a brawler

out of the 4, only cotto started fighting on his backfoot, but he started to fight on his back foot when Pac already knocked him down twice, when he was pedaling away he wasnt getting beaten up as badly as he was earlier, but coz the damage was already done on him in rounds 3 and 4.

after the Mayweather fight it would become alot clearer for the *******s to agree that a fighter like sweet Pea is just stylistically too good for Pac

I was never a big fan. Was happy when Trinidad whipped him.

That said, felt bad for him in the Chavez fight. That was wrong.
