If I remember correctly, it was Arum who wanted Pac there. I believe Pac was going to miss the trip, so he could go on a holiday with his family, but, changed his mind at the last minute. Cotto and Arum wanted the fight, and after watching Cotto, Pac agreed to it.
He most definitely would be a money warrior. :good Let see what happens though, he did say 145 was the lowest he'd go but we all know $$ talks.
No he didn't ask him immediately after the fight, don't post rubbish coming out of your ass. Arum invited Pacquiao over because he already told him and publicly announced that if Cotto wins a fight with Pacquiao is coming next. Pacquiao attended because he, just like everyone else, knew that a fight with Cotto is next regardless of how he looks against Clottey as long as he wins.
He would be stupid if he takes it for that, he can still make good money having rematches with Margarito, Mosley and Clottey. Berto and Mayweather are also out there and possible good fights. He already said that if they can't come up with a good weight to agree on he's moving on so that's a good sign. Why risk it all for just ONE big payday when he can make good money against many others out there.
http://pacquiao-vs-cotto.blogspot.com/2009/06/pacquiao-cotto-bobfathers-dream-comes.html " And I honestly doubt that Cotto’s name would figure into this drama as anything but a negotiating ploy right now if Floyd were still going forward with the Marquez fight on July 18. Today, Arum is insisting in the press that Pacquiao, who was ringside at the Cotto/Clottey fight and received a huge ovation when introduced to the predominantly Puerto Rican crowd, asked Arum to make a date with Cotto soon after the final bell had rung on Saturday night, long before they knew anything about the Mayweather/Marquez postponement. Based on insider reports, I find that dubious at best. The word floating around the press after the Cotto/Clottey fight was that WBC welterweight champ Andre Berto was next in line for Cotto because Pacquiao was entirely fixated on fighting Floyd ". Chew on that Scar !!!!
I dont know when this thread was made but if this is true about 143 catchweight then this fight is a BULL**** FIGHT
Chew on what?, you? Can you please tell me how will they sign to fight Cotto if the fight isn't over yet and the result is unclear?, the reason why Arum brought him there is because he openly and publicly announced that IF COTTO WINS a fight with Pacquiao follows after it. How the hell will they sign if the fight isn't over?
Pacquiao immediately asked Arum to make the fight with Cotto. Just as the link I posted says......Pacquiao, " as soon as the final bell rung asked Arum for a date with Cotto " What part of that is hard for you to understand ?
Damn straight it happend with a dead Oscar and it will again if Cotto fights at 143. With that said I'm not saying Pac can't beat Cotto at 147. I'd pick him there but he won't get much credit from me and others if he fights Cotto at 143 and wins.
To be fair to Pacquiao he started off at Super Fly didn't he? The fact that he's even fighting at 143 is an achievement in itself. There is only so far he can go.
Boy i love being right cause i told you biased Pacquiao fans that Pacquiao will only fight big fighters such as either Mosley or Cotto if they are weight drain badly. This prove why Roach wanted De la hoya to move down to 147 pounds cause he and Pacquiao knew De la hoya will be a shot weight drain fighter. Wake me up when Pacquiao finally fight a real fighter that isn't a shot weight drain fighter.
Cotto winning a split decision against a good difficult fighter in Clottey is a sign for Manny that he should fight him? :think. Damn what a coward Manny is . But yes, weight should be 145.
Dude no offense but shut up. Pacquiao fought at flyweight when he was a freaking teenager. He's what right now? 30 years old?
