    we know pac's main strength is his speed and offense.
    we know floyds main strength is his technical genious and defensive skill

    but how about the other aspect?
    The opposites of their strength.

    Floyds offense
    Pac's defense

    no bias voting be honest.

    Pac doesn't have defense. HIs offense is his defense. He doesn't even roll punches. All he does is cover up and eat shots then use his hand speed and power to counter the slower opponent and force him to turtle up. He won't be having that luxury against Mayweather.

    i think they even out. pacs best defence is his ability to force his oponent to keep pivoting around in order to find him. floyds fast hands and accuracy will find pac but it will be from angles he is not used to throw from. this will leave floyd open for pacs counter punching combinations. it will come down to who gets worn down first. i think it will be floyd.

    Clearly Mayweather's offense, Pacquiao's defence is pretty basic and Mayweather has the tools to dismantle him. That said, Pacquiao's offense is his defence to an extent, and that's a whole 'nother problem to deal with.

    Here's some rough numbers that I came up with from Pac & Floyd's last 5 fights:

    Pacquiao - punches taken (rounds)
    * Margarito - 229 (12)
    * Clottey - 108 (12)
    * Cotto - 172 (12)
    * Hatton - 18 (2)
    * De La Hoya - 83 [8]

    Total punches received: 610

    Mayweather - punches landed (rounds)
    * Mosley - 208 (12)
    * Marquez - 299 (12)
    * Hatton - 129 (10)
    * De La Hoya - 207 (12)
    * Baldomir - 199 (12)

    Total punches landed: 1042

    Mayweather's offence without question. His offence is one of the best in the sport.

    thats not that relevant at 147 right? his power from the lower weights is gone.
    I think pacquiao has underrated defense, but still it wont take long for mayweather to time him and land. Its pacs offense he needs to worry about.

    When PAC is getting caught his natural insticts is to shoot back, or use his very quick feet and run back or side to side while shooting off some weird shots...

    PAC doesn't really have a defense, I think he uses his feet as defense and his offense is his number one trait...

    While Mayweather has footspeed as well, and is a defensive genius, his offense is set up by his defense.. he is a counter puncher...

    I see this fight going like JMM PAC 2, except Mayweather is faster, bigger, stronger, in better shape, and younger... more defensive minded so he won't get caught off guard, mayweather will not trade like JMM and give pac an advanatge, mayweather will confuse PAC and make pac think to much just like JMM but much much more.

    This will be a schooling once may weather is done with legal problems.

    Mayweather is the exact opposite fighter that he has been fed recently... The last time he met a counter puncher in prime, we all know how close that was...

    Pac's head movement and feet are underrated, as are Floyd's ability to pressure. Pacquiao may get hit a bit, and Floyd may have a low output, but there offense/defense are directly related. It's a bit hard to separate them and say which one is better. Pacquiao will take one to give 5, and escape, but you won't land anything solid on him without paying a bigger price. Floyd will only take what he is sure of, but it's hardly something you can defend against or counter. I say equal, with Floyd's offense having the edge.

    This fight is going to be about Pac hunting and Floyd running and spoiling, so the question is irrelevant. :deal

    Floyd took much more punches vs Marquez than Pac did against Margarito - :yikes

    pacs defense is his offense and mayweather ofense is his defense. pac has good head movement and gets in and out of range really well. mayweather doesnt hit very hard but makes you miss and counters with crisp punches you dont see comming which discourages fighters
